Damn, that tire blowout did some damage. Are you able to get a breaker bar in there to bend that bracket back up away from the tires? Atleast it derimmed itself so the roadside crew can easily change it since it's an outside tire. Plus it's always a good day when you have a blowout like that and keep the shiney side up. The fleeing tire didn't hit any other vehicles or homes did it? Are you empty so you can possibly limp it to a safe location to get it changed? Sorry, being a trucker these are the first questions I'd ask myself in that situation. Stay safe out there and keep the greasy side down.

When I hauled groceries it was by the mile then $18 per hour while getting unloaded . Everything had a price tag on it . Pre and post trip was $15 each per day . A few bucks when you fueled up at the warehouse at the end of your trip . Drop and hook was another $$$ . Delay pay was I think only $12 bucks an hour . 70 hours a week I was working ,great pay checks but no life and no sleep .

 

Plus it took me 35 minutes to get to work . Put a lot of extra miles on the Taco when I worked there . All highway anyway .

 

Yea sucked . Would go in during the day or night ,it would get dark or light again and I still wasn’t done . Go from light to dark and back to light most of the time . If I was lucky enough to get back to the warehouse before sun up I would race home to try and make it to bed before sunrise .

 

Well, while I was regressing the slider pins for my front brakes I noticed quite a bit of fluid on the skid plate. Looked under above the skid plate and see that the return line for my power steering is rusted and split leaking out. Guess I know what I'm doing Saturday since I'm busy today and tomorrow. Trucks sitting for a couple days until it's fixed. Easy and cheap enough fix. The pain in the ass part will be bleeding the system.

 

Be sure to hit every bolt/fitting with pb blaster or other penetrating oil tonight and again tomorrow!

 

First chance I had to check in since I posted at 4 a.m. and left for work.
