I doubt they'll bother to dust for prints when you're not even sure what was taken. On top of that do you really want to clean all that crap when they're done? Biggest thing I'd be worried about is my garage door opener because with that they can steal a whole lot more.

They probably won't dust for prints but they may recognize the scum bag in the video.

No, we had some here already - we generally looked for types we couldn't get here or were special runs you have to buy at the distillery. My ambassador's barrel aged at Maker's Mark so I grabbed two bottles of that, as well. We should start seeing Buffalo Trace start to show up on the liquor stores here in a few months again.

I've gotten so cautious (or paranoid, take your pick) That I lock my truck in my detached garage even when the door is closed.

I wouldn’t do that. If they’re in your garage at that point they’d have no problem breaking a window. Save yourself at least that trouble.

I suppose I have a different mentality on this. I would, and do, lock my vehicle in my garage. Locks, no matter what they are on, keep honest people out. If a dishonest person manages to get inside the perimeter of a building on my property, I'm certainly not going to make their 'job' easier by ensuring other stuff isn't locked up. In many occasions, petty thieves aren't looking for resistance. When it is encountered, some move on rather quickly.

i get that but then what of value are you trying to protect is in the car inside the garage other than the car itself? I don’t keep anything of value in any vehicle, because thieves suck. If they are going to steal the car, the lock doesn’t matter. I’d rather they open the door and take my usb charger or spare change than break a window to get it.

Any time you lock your vehicle there's a chance somebody might break your windows. It doesn't stop me elsewhere. ;)Anyway. habits are easy to form. I like the habit of locking it every time so I don't forget when it counts. And I never forget to lock it. I do have valuables in my truck at all times, as I don't empty it out of everything when I get home. Example: sometimes, I'll leave my phone in there if i am just coming home for a short time before I have to go back out.

you are right, nothing wrong with it I suppose but I also live in a neighborhood that is been pretty trouble free. I have my garage doors tied to alarm system and 3 guard cats. If they make it through there I have an arsenal of oldies music and pistols to make your day.

My car gets parked in Philly every day for work so I certainly know people will break windows for only a damn coupon, I know better so the car is stripped clean already lol

I actually live out in a rural area for over 30 years now. the only time I ever had somebody in my garage was about 20 years ago when I left the door open as I did yardwork and came around from the back of the house to find the neighbor's teen boy with a friend in my garage. When i questioned them they gave me some lame excuse about looking for a ball. I cussed their asses out and told them to get out before I told their father and grandfather. I just like to form habits lest my ever growing old mind forgets.
