While I doubt it was anybody on here, there was a MGM 3rd gen TRD Sport with red Tacoma letters that kept creeping past my house. Did it several times. Next time I'm chucking my beer can at you!

I took advantage of yesterday's gorgeous weather to start cleaning up my old junker. After 27 years of owning it, this '96 BMW Z3 still brings a smile to my face. After it cooled down, I waxed it and will clean out the interior today - then it's time to hit the roads.

I always loved the clown shoe Z3 M's. But even the regular ones are probably fun to drive. Oh, and morning to all!

Did you get your new Taco yet? Yesterday was Taco Tuesday. I saw a video on YouTube that says there is going to be glut of vehicles soon, meaning lower prices, although pick up trucks are still in high demand.

I got to know BMW USA's VP of Corporate Relations very well - he told me that the original '96 Z3 with it's 4 cylinder engine and near-perfect front to rear balance ratio was the car the BMW engineers wanted to build. It was a throw-back to the simpler roadsters, the MGs/MGBs, Spiitfires and TRs, the Austins of the 50s and 60s. The later 6 cylinder and M powered versions were the cars they had to build to satisfy the US market.

I spent many days running the mountain roads of NC with fellow Z3 and MZ3 owners - coupes and convertibles. In the tight, twisties of Tail of the Dragon, The Snake, The Diamondback, etc I could keep up with anyone - or put them behind me as they fought the balance issues and tendency for the rear end to break loose. I might be digging into 2d gear, but I could hang with anyone. I'd lose ground on the straights but catch right back up in the corners.

Where I work, we rebuild and repair those big boom lift cylinders for Liebherr, Grove, Manitowoc, Linkbelt, and other crane manufacturers.

It rare for us to see a Liebherr crane in Pittsburgh, is that a European manufacturer?

Yea once they upgrade our switch gear they're taking out the big 16 cylinder diesel generator here at work. It would power the whole building no problem. They're replacing it with a natural gas unit that will not have the capability to run the whole building. So, in a power out event one of us will have to babysit central control to make sure they don't start all the sorters...:crazy:

They're made in Germany. We mostly deal with their facility in Newport News, VA.
