Morning all, did my first oil change on the Taco yesterday since I've bought it (actually 2nd but I didn't do that one). Definitely seemed to quiet down the engine noise a bit. She was ticking pretty good beforehand, but only in the normal way.

:pccoffee:  PA peeps. It's supposed to rain today! Actual rain, not just condensation around Canadian smoke particles. I'm looking forward to it.

The West Shore Bypass in Reading was resurfaced a couple of years back. They did almost all of the work at night -- which I think is incredible all by itself -- and they did a fantastic job, and it didn't take very long. First class job all the way around. I told the workers as much every time I drove through, which was pretty often back then. I've seen a few of the bridge repair jobs around here go the same way. Great work, done in good time.

At the other end of the spectrum there's the Smoketown Road bridge near our house. Small bridge replacement job, but heavy rains during reconstruction blew out one of the embankments. That was 2 years ago and there has been no action since. Frustrating!

I read that this span of 95 only opened four years ago, and drivers had to previously access the NJTP to continue on 95. I don't know how accurate that is.

This is going to be a huge mess.

There's a new bridge in MD that can not be opened to traffic. Due to not meeting the height requirements to clear the CSX rail way below, it's like an 1"&1/4 too low.

You are correct, this was redone about 5 years ago I'm hearing. Just a hot enough fire for long enough that brought that section down. Now they're saying it'll take months till it's fixed.

Me and my co worker been talking about opening a business doing just nuisance wildlife trapping. I'm not the best at looking for online the license or what we need for that type of business. Haven't been able to find the info I'm looking for. Smh

We had a similar incident on the liberty bridge in Pittsburgh, another insurance job. But wonder if any tax money is involved ? State Inspectors ?

Unfortunately I can't own a gun in new jersey or probably anywhere. I've had a bit of a rough past.

I emailed nj fish and wildlife. They got back to me said there is no special license or permits needed for trapping with a cage for nuisance wildlife.

That's great, should make it easy to start up a business or even a side gig.

As someone with way more knowledge of civil enginerding than a sysadmin really needs..

i95 could probably be opened in about 3 weeks with a temporary bridge. Replacement would probably be 3 months minimum with a pile of money thrown at the problem.

Figure 2 weeks to excavate. A week for rebar/forming. 4 weeks for concrete to cure. Set steel in a day (which would be manufactured in the previous phases). Form/rebar/pour bridge deck, 2 weeks. Cure 4 weeks, done.

If weather cooperates and your break tests hit target @ 2 weeks you can save a month basically.

A temporary bridge will only postpone the pain. I say, get an Army engineers unit involved. It will be done in 30 days. What say you @Devious6 ?
