Morning Pa. Took a stress day today. Between unrealistic work load and contract negotiations Pappy just needs a day to recharge. Happy Wednesday all!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Looking back I wish I would have done that more often.

I worked on the road most times just easier to work.

It's important to take that time! Remote work makes it a little easier to take some mini vacations too, or just work from areas that help de-stress. This was my remote office last week

I'm taking PTO on Wednesday June 28th for my birthday.

In the past, I didn't take care of my wellness by going to work.

This year I turn 57 and my plan is to work 3 more years and retire for a second time (1st was military retirement).

I'm starting to notice my body is not the same as it was a decade ago...heck, I remember turning 40 and feeling invincible.

I'm taking the 3rd 4th and 5th of next month. I have zero plans. Might do some fishing. A stay vacation sounds good to me. Might as well get that time before the heat comes back around. I hate summer for that reason. Not the biggest fan of hot weather.

I have this Friday off to take a long motorcycle ride. Doing a memorial Iron Butt ride for a former coworker and friend who passed away last year at 57 years of age. Will post my Spot link here later after I get home from work in case anyone wants to follow along.

Well today was an early day for me. Got rained out. And now it's bright and sunny go figure. Either way rather be home now than still being stuck at work. Pot roast for dinner tonight. Got it in the crock pot. Whole house smells good.

Thanks to all. I worked with Allen for about 20 odd years and while we weren't super close we had quite a few friends in common from work and did socialize outside of work. I was fairly certain of his sexual orientation and it was irrelevant to me. After several years he actually approached me at work and officially "came out". I just sort of laughed, asked him if this was his way of asking me out and told him that though I was flattered I didn't play for that team. He laughed as well and I told him I'd suspected and didn't really care one way or the other. Talked for a bit found he'd found someone and was dating and he was happy. Told him that was all that mattered and I was happy for him. Eventually met his long-term partner and they were together for 28 years when Allen passed. The Iron Butt Association offers memorial rides where a motorcyclist can do a long-distance ride in someone's memory and if completed that person's family will get a copy of the ride certificate.

I know it was tough for Allen to finally acknowledge who he was and his family didn't take it well. I'm sure those decisions, like coming out like he did, have consequences beyond what most of us ever realize.

Link goes live Thursday night after 10pm. Another rider friend of mine is going along on his first Iron Butt ride. Oddly fitting 2 straight guys are going to The Gay Bar during Pride month......
