That's the million dollar quest, right there!

In 2006 (when I turned 40), I had made rank (promotion cycle to E7) and got an assignment to Dover, Delaware.

I hit 20 years of USAF active duty service on April 1st and was enjoying the life at Ramstein, Air Base Germany. (2003-06)

The reason I was so active is because of an active home life (daughters were in HS & Middle School), wife worked for AAFES on Landstuhl and work kept me busy with TDYs (Temp Duty) to Paris, Rome, Souda Bay Crete, Incirlik Turkey, & Rota Spain. I was a busy LG for Region 5 at USAFE/HQs.

These days I'm just a Surgical Material Supply dude supporting Cardiovascular Cath Lab department, M-F/0600-1430, no weekends.

I'm finally gonna take my birthday off (Wed June 28th) & head down to the beach for some much needed lounging/boogie boarding/brunch.

Then it's back to work on Thu/Fri and get ready for 4th of July weekend.

 

I took a day off and got new shocks 6112 and 5100 I am liking the ride .

 

The swifties are already appearing. Gonna be great leaving work tomorrow a block away from her concert.

Had another long day today and just wanted to get home. Halfway there, the lights and siren go on behind me.
Pulled in a parking lot…. license, registration….. you were going 48 in a 25. Shit!!!
Where are you going, home. Where are you coming from, work. Where do you work, told him. He grinned. Heres my chance.
I ask, did you go through the police academy there? Yes I did he says. I say, do you know, so and so, the director of the police academy. Yeah I do he says. And we start talking about his time there and that I just saw the director before I left, which I did by the way and we do know each other well.

Last time I was pulled been a long time. I tried to beat a red light. Didn't quite make it. Pulled into a parking lot. Cop asks for the normal stuff. He looks at my license and says how's your father I say good. He says you know you went through a red light back there. I said my father always told me green mean go yellow means speed up and red means stop. He laughed and said this just a warning try stopping next time. My father is a retired chief of police. Just so happened that he graduated the academy with my father. He just worked for a different town. A couple years later that same officer ended moving in next door to my sister. Super cool guy he is also retired now.

 

I haven't been pulled over since coming back from Niagara Falls with the family back in 2001. Before that, I went through a bad spell in the 90s with a heavy lead foot, as I tried to take care of work and family business. I got so many points that I had to retake my driver's test. That was a wake up call for me. And I never had a police officer just warn me. I guess I don't have that kind of face for that.

And I was written a citation by a young officer who asked me this question: "didn't you see me?" I'll let you decide what kinda guy he was. lol

My last job was5 miles from work in the country .

Many days I was home before I knew it.

Good morning PA. We had a strong round of thunderstorms and a good amount of rain. The family is going to meet my mother at the cemetery, to pay respect to my father, then we are going to lunch. Hopefully, the next round of rain holds off until we are done.
