Actual receipt I got last week from a rental.

 

I cannot believe that I just found out about this! In 2000, my parents bought a brand new GMC Safari conversion van with a TV and VHS player in the back, and they bought me a metric shit-ton of VHS tapes before we moved across the country from Virginia Beach to Oak Harbor, Washington. One of those movies was Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, and I can't tell you how many times I watched it on the cross-country drive!

Phishing tests are fun.. as the person who makes you take them.

They 100% serve a purpose, the weakest element in any IT security is the human element. Unless you're using an ultra-simple password (think, "Password") no one gets hacked anymore. The easiest way into an environment is social engineering. 100% fake it till you make it.

I think what irks me is the fact that I work for a college (that does the same thing) and I worked for a fortune 100 company… I never missed a fake phish. I’ve even reported ones that are real and emails that are legit.

The fact that they can’t tell me when where and how… is what irks me. And honestly. I get less then 10 emails a day.

I report every email as fishing. If you want an answer you give me a call otherwise you’re a usual suspect, easy peasey lol. We live in a world today where emails are a distraction not a method of communication.

I'm the opposite. I absolutely hate phones and would much rather email, at least for my work. We've had far too many cases where numbers have gotten transposed, things have gotten missed, or notes not put on repairs leading to reworks or pissed off customers. With emails there is an easily followed thread of who said what so there are no miscommunications and mistakes can be traced.
