Spent the afternoon taking down some old dying pine trees. There were 4 in all. A neighbor, who's an excavator took them down, my step son cut them up and the wife and I did the clean up. The front yard is now bare, but these trees were not offering any kind of privacy or wind barrier anymore.

 

Another year in the books, sadly most of the older generation have either passed or have gotten too fragile to come to the reunion. Used to be well over 250 family members from all over the world every year out at Fox Chapel Community Park, it's dwindled down to around to around 100 this year.

 

My mother's family reunion got so small, they stopped this year. My mother is the only one left out of 11. Many of my cousins and niece/nephews just didn't come anymore. My wife still has hers but once her mother died, the numbers went down. My wife is one of 12 but a number of her siblings have passed as well in the last few years. Again, the young people just aren't connected like the old days.

What's the name of the campsite, or is this land you own? This place looks pretty chill, wouldn't mind checking it out.

Don't own it but it's private property that my girlfriends parents own, it's a pretty chill spot that we get to use when ever as long as we help take care of things. Buttonwood campground is about 2 miles down from our spot, but that place can be kind of crowded on the weekends.
