I'm like that as well. Everybody would like more money but sometimes the extra BS outweighs the extra cash. My job could certainly be better but Monday-Friday 6:30-3:00, no weekends, no mandatory OT, paid holidays, employee health insurance is paid, and very liberal leave policy especially for family situations. Vacation time should be better, here 10 years and still only get 2 weeks but I can take off without pay anytime I want with no penalty beyond the loss of money. Can work on side projects at work, even on the clock when we're slow.

 

Sounds like you got a good deal going there.

 

It's not awful.

Last year my nephew was working on his Eagle Scout project and being a former scout from the same troop I had offered to assist any way I could. he was refurbishing the cross country course at his high school. This meant digging holes and sinking new guideposts, painting them, etc. Owner of the company I work for left me borrow his walk behind Bobcat with auger attachment to drill the holes so we didn't' have to do them manually. Not just the Bobcat but his personal truck and landscape trailer and refused to allow me to refuel any of it. All I had to do was show up at his house and drop my Tacoma off and grab his equipment and go then return it when done with it. Hard to bitch about that.

Most of the Pittsburgh area is out of a drought condition. It's a different story in the east.

Just saw my family off at the airport. On their way back to Italy and will miss them. Cooked a small meal for them last night so they wouldn’t say we didn’t feed them while here. Mom said not too much so I kept it small.

Morning Pa. Headed over the hill to the cabin. Hoping to get the JD tractor running, she has a dead short somewhere. Have an idea it's a sensor for cold starts mounted in the thermostat housing. Searched online and this seems to be a common thing with JD. Happy Saturday all!

I took my grandson and a friend to the Hookstown Fair last night. We spent the evening watching the demolition derby. There was the obligatory car that caught on fire to add to the excitement. This song comes to mind when I think of summer and demolition derbies.
