Also happy new year everyone, haven't been posting much during the holidays. Also finally got engaged after 8 years and buying a house together.

I witnessed an accident today. A blue 1990s Chevy 1500 lost it's left rear wheel, and the blue Lexus IS pictured below nailed the wheel going probably 50 MPH...

 

The Chevy lost a rear wheel, and amazingly enough the driver was able to maintain control...

 

I was northbound on 611 and saw the tire flying through the air before I saw the truck; I was gonna come back around and make sure the Chevy driver was okay, but then I saw the blue Lexus all smashed up in my side view mirror. I immediately got off at the first exit and called 911 as I was doubling back. Right after I got off the phone with 911, another 3-car accident occurred as a result of looking at the first accident instead of paying attention to the road!

 

Luckily, they didn't have to close the road completely...

 

A flying wheel/tire can kill someone. Hope blue car is ok.

 

That Ford F150 on my left in the center lane, which seems to be a company vehicle of sort, slammed into the back of a silver Camry...

 

The driver of the blue Lexus is okay, but the car is probably totaled; Lexus is a safe vehicle!

 

The silver Camry, which is kind of blurry but can sorta be seen in the center of this picture, had its back end totally smashed in...

 

The Camry was pushed into the silver Venza seen here, and suffered front end damage as well. The Camry was, without a doubt, totaled. The trunk was erased from existence and the airbags went off. The Venza only seemed to have minor damage and was probably driven home...

 

I not only witnessed it, but my dashcam did as well; I gave my info to the police and will be sending the footage to police once again (remember the accident in Horsham right after Thanksgiving).

 

I saw this tire in an intersection, after leaving the scene of the accident, on my way to pick up Amanda from work. What is it with vehicles losing tires today?!?!

Actually considering that there wasn't a vehicle around, I'm thinking that the second wheel near Fred Beans Ford was a spare that flew out of someone's truck bed. Also, I saw what looked like part of the brake drum assembly from the blue Chevy flying through the air along with the wheels; I'm thinking it was more than just a case of loose nuts...

 

Not good.

 

There is a viral video from about a year ago where a tire came off a Silverado on the highway and launches a Kia airborne.
