Insurance adjuster finally showed-up and approved the repairs from the squirrel's snacking on the wiring. He said he had done 10 squirrel-assault quotes just this week.
Parts are ordered and I might have the truck back next week....just in time to head up to the cabin for the long weekend.
Now, the 4Runner is howling. Bearing? CV? Probably can't blame that on the squirrels though.

 

Did they give u a $ value ?

 

Just under $10K including tax & labor. The wiring harness is listed as nearly $4K (by the adjuster) and I think they can be had for a little more than $2K. Crazy.
Good to have comprehensive. My cost will be $250.

 

wow. I was thinking 1 or 2 grand , maybe couple butt connectors, heat shrink, scotch 33 and call it a day , boy was I wrong. Something like that on my truck would total it ! Good luck

 

I slept from 7-ish to 7-ish last night! I've been roadtripping since last Wednesday, and I can never sleep when I do that and end up getting on the road at 4:30 or 5:00 every morning. Takes me a while to settle in to new sleeping quarters, and on the road they change every day...
