Morning Pa. Been a long, stressful week for me. Going out with friends for supper tonight, I really don't like going out Friday night always tired. But will be good to see friends. One couple moved back upstate to Wellsboro I think, will be in town this weekend. Will be good to see them, we used to go out alot together. Come on 15:00!

Probably obtained by some bogus asset forfeiture scam. The police THINK they were involved in a criminal activity but have no proof and you have to prove they were not. I have no issue with seizing criminal related property UPON CONVICTION of a crime, but asset forfeiture on the assumption of criminal activity is nothing but a scam.

 

Is PA a place people say "Supper" vs "Dinner"? What am I getting into? But really - for PA, is it regional within-state? Like, is it Pop vs Soda depending on which side of the state, etc?

 

Just as long as you know that Sheetz is superior to Wawa everything will be ok

 

We don't have any sheetz in my area. Must be a pa thing. But I do make it a priority to stop at one when I'm in PA.

 

We had Sheetz in OK. I like Wawa better only because our sheetz didn't have much sheet inside - no subs/other food. But Royal Farms is better than Wawa

 

Very regional in PA. Lifetime resident and still get surprised at just how it is here. Soda around York County, pop in the western counties. Whoopie Pies in York are called Gobs out in Johnstown.

 

Last few times I was in Royal Farms it seemed they're heading towards all self checkout. If that's the case I won't be going back.

 

I dunno- but their chicken is better than anything around my area, other than chickfila. of course, this area has maybe one really solid restaurant, so there isn't much competition.

 

Where are you at in York county? There is a Portugese restaurant that opened in downtown York, Mesa Moreira, that has what might well be the best chicken I've ever eaten in my life.

 

I should have clarified - tonight will be my first night full-time in York County. I was talking about the Aberdeen area. But thanks for the heads-up; I'll check that place

 

York has a First Friday on the ....first Friday of the month where they close down a street or two, businesses stay open later, usually some stuff going on like live music or something. That's where I first tried this chicken. They had a steel plate pit made up in the street and were cooking this stuff spraying it down with their own sauce called Piri Piri sauce. First time my other half and I split one. We went back the next month and each had our own. When we were done it looked like a TV documentary about piranhas and how they can strip an animal to the bone in seconds. This stuff is that good I think we licked the bones clean.

I was raised calling it dinner, but then PA has lots of regional dialects, so i imagine it differs across the state.

 

We just got a royal farms in the area I used to work in. Good fried chicken.

 

Chikfila is all hype. I honestly think there chicken is trash.

 

I've never been disappointed with Portuguese or Brazilian restaurants. They know how to cook some good food. My ex wife was Portuguese.
