Anyone want the guts from my bumper? You could use it to replace a damaged one or just have the brackets for a custom bumper or template.

I used my new snowblower to clear out myself and a couple of neighbors who can use the help. Found out that one of them has a snowblower she never learned to use (nogoodnik husband dumped her, grrrr) and it's pretty cool! I gave her some lessons, it's pretty easy to drive but not so easy to start. We'll see I guess.

That describes half the towns in PA. Shh! Don't tell the folks in NJ

Maybe I missed something? I just tossed that up there for PA artistes to paste homertaco images in front of.

 

That always confused me. Every year we get a decent snow, the snow shovels fly off the shelf. What happened to the shovel people used last year? New shovel each year? I've had the shovels I use for snow for probably 6 or 7 years now.

 

X2 could never figure that out,i think yuppies throw them out rather than have to look at an ugly snow shovel all year long.

 

This wouldn't surprise me.

I can see that too. But even the decent ones get sold too.

Maybe that's the ones the yuppies buy and toss out. Wish I knew when they decide to throw them out. I'd grab them up!

Coal shovel with a long handle. Works pretty well for chipping ice away at the same time

 

Truth, but I can't seem to find a steel coal shovel. I like the short handle though. That's what I grew up using. That's the only kind my dad would ever have. I bought an aluminum one a couple years back thinking that would be good getting under that lower level of ice. Damn thing sucked. The front lip got bent a little up from trying to get up the ice, the very 1st time I used it. No bueno.

 

I buy the cheap plastic ones, but with wooden handles. But wait, I have logical (to me anyway) reasons!

1. I don't like the metal edges because they scratch sidewalks and porches. I want plastic right out to the edge.
2. They're very light. Lighter tool = less work.
3. I've never had one actually break. The plastic edge wears down after years of use.
4. They're cheap.
5. I'm cheap.

Neighbor has one of those but with a short handle (she's uhmmm 'petite'.) Aluminum. Still heavy. But it does move a lot of snow.
