Hello from Coopersburg Pa (hour north of Philly). Going to look at this 2010 tomorrow for the 3rd time. This is the only rust spot I can find. I'm not thrilled it's on a seam but I think it's able to be dealt with. I've looked at a bunch of trucks but most are crusty or not what I'm looking for (double cab/manual transmission).

Guys from west coast said "oh no! That's terrible rust.". But what is the opinion of the northeast people? Doesn't seem like the end of the world to me but I'm new to the Tacoma world. If it were on an 80 series or BMW e30, I wouldn't blink an eye.

Honestly for a east coast truck that doesn't look bad.

 

@Tatts521 I was just going to cut out the affected moulding and caulk it. I knabbed some of the good roofing caulk from the roofers at work

 

I'd stay away from roofing caulk. I know it's free but I'd not recommend it. And yes I'd just cut out the molding. Pick up a tube of windshield urethane. I'd hate to be the guy to replace a windshield that had roofing caulk.

Nah, this truck will get scraped after it stops running. 200k miles bought it for $900. If I can get another 40k miles from it, that's 40k miles that don't go on my taco

 

What are ya saying?! Through the roof isn’t what you’d want. There isn’t much flex with that stuff. It gets super hard after a little while. Trying to scrape it out of a gutter usually results in bloody hands. We don’t use it actually. Only urethane.
