Is there anything you're really good at for side gigs or a hobby that you could turn into a fulltime job with a company or become self employed? I know I've mentioned this before but since Covid alot of people became their own boss. I've been self employed for 8 years now doing alot of different things but I don't deal with asshole coworkers or bosses only looking out for themselves. I like to see people succeed and have better lives. If you lived closer I'd help you get gigs or a job. I actually have alot of jobs that I have to postpone because of surgery, the jobs I can't I'm handing them off to my friends that can definitely use the money for bills and kids.

I second the notion of finding a healthy work environment, especially if that means being your own boss. I have been a mentor to colleagues and get real enjoyment out of helping people find their strengths that they didn't know they had! My inbox is always open for anyone who wants to chat.

Hiya folks! Any mobile-type mechanics in the group (I'm in south york county)? I have a CV axle that needs-done, and due to some neuropathy I don't have a ton of hand strength to turn wrenches. I'd have new OEM axle, new boots (will put on CVJ boots - I have a CV joint Boot Tool [which sounds like the name of a 90s grunge band - "Opening for Nirvana...BOOT TOOL!"] which makes boot changes easy, and cash and drinks and tools (will pick up an air compressor and impact gun) and food too.

:pccoffee:  :rain: PA peeps/wannabes/job seekers. The job market since C___D has me very glad that I'm retired!

All this job search talk hit home because a nephew has been struggling to find work also. He has his own flooring/carpet laying business but it's been slow. He told me he was interviewing today, and it hit me that the place he's trying to get into is somewhere I worked back in 1972! Small world.

When the president says there's alot of jobs in reality it's people going back to work that was layed off. Big difference there.

I'm just happy I landed a job before my unemployment ran out. Cuz I only had 2 weeks left of unemployment. At this point didn't matter what job I got as long as I'm able to pay my bills.

We're in the process of getting our deck replaced. A number of the contractors told us they could go in a week. It seems that the economy is keeping many from getting renovations done. The one guy said he is usually subcontracted by the major builders in the area but they aren't building.

Thanks - I'd drive it to ya, but I'd have to pull the axle and all that, which is half the job.

Only 10 more hours forecasted where I’m at. Started last night, a nice 30 hour rain storm

I was in a boom lift 40’ in the air all day. 50 degrees, 40mph gusts, rain. Man I wish it was groundhogs day

Actually, I think Phil hit it right. He predicted Spring. What comes with Spring? Rain. :D
