Looks like the rain will be here in a few hours. It's cloudy and dreary. The weather man says that sunshine makes for bad storms, so I guess the lack of sun is good.

Good Afternoon, I had posted recently looking for information on replacing a rear hitch on my 2006 Tacoma. After looking at it a little closer it appears that it may be worthwhile to also replace the rear bumper as there is a little rust on that as well. I find conflicting information on line versus the dealer. It appears that you have to remove the bumper to replace the hitch assembly which is one of the reasons to replace the bumper while I am replacing the hitch. I am confused with information I have received from the local parts manager at the Toyota dealer. He insist that since the truck came with a hitch originally then in order to replace the hitch the bed needs to come off. I have attempted to verify this online but I cannot find anywhere where this is explained. He insist that since it came with a hitch then the bed must be removed to replace with a new one. Has anybody done this in the past that can share their experience. Thanks.

Bed can stay on. Had an aftermarket bumper with integrated hitch on my 2nd gen that I definitely didn't pull the bed off to install.

I second that. Bed does not have to come off. I removed my hitch and rear bumper to install a aftermarket rear bumper with a built in hitch.

Would you mind giving the information on the bumper/built in hitch that you purchased.

Good morning PA. Crazy night of storms. My apps were going off with warnings starting about midnight, including for tornadoes . A tornado touched down about 14 miles away. No damage here other than disrupted sleep.

It rained real hard for about a 1/2 hour but my rain gauge only had about 2 1/2 inches. I think the strong winds maybe blew the rain sideways so the gauge didn't get a good read.

They've been initially calling for rain the past 4 days now and nothing...

As long as it holds out today while I try some ribs on my newly acquired pellet grill, I'll be happy

Good morning all. Thunder and lightning woke me up this morning. First time I've driven my truck in almost 2 weeks.
