We actually got a rate decrease so it was only $179 last time. But, this next one is going to be a whopper! :goingcrazy:

Yes. It will be over $400 the next two months, if it's anything like last summer. I have no gas bill, although I do buy propane for my heat. And I have a well, so no water or sewer bill, although I do have a filtration system that cost a few hundred bucks a year to maintain. The water heater should probably be replaced. It's old and i bet it's an electric hog. But the dryer, multiple freezers, frigs, cooktop/oven, a.c., etc. It adds up. DLC is happy, I'm sure.

The one job I did at CMU, the lobby was super nice red marble walls. They wanted power, only option was wire mold.

so now there’s ugly ass almond wire mold on the walls.

Reminds me, I think my water softener just kicked the bucket. I took a shower yesterday evening and no amount of body wash would lather up at all compared to usual. :annoyed:

DLC got a rate hike over a year ago. When I compare bills from now to the same month last year or the year before, even if the usage is the same, the bill is $50 or $60 higher.

Yep, I have WPP, owned by I think first energy. Maybe 9 or 10% increase. So I went onto pa choice and switched my rate and saved a little. Still more than last yr.

It's getting better. Not close to 100% yet, they told me I'll probably never be 100% due to all of the arthritis in all of my joints. I'm mobile and can do most things. Moving heavy items (furniture, appliances, etc...) up or down steps or hills is definitely not fun so I try to avoid that. This humidity is reeking havoc on my joints.

I have west penn too. Very leery of all the other electricity suppliers (like cleanchoice) - as I've heard they cost less initially and then jack up rates later. How do you like pa choice?

Glad u asked , I love it. But, but , like u said u have to watch of the pit falls. I filter down the suppliers : no fees , no early termination fee, no monthly cost fee,ect... then select the cheapest rate , usually a 3 or 6 month term . Usually u can find 10 or so cheaper than WPP KWH rate. Then I set an alarm in my calender to remind me to switch to another supplier or WPP whatever is cheaper before the term expires. Ur right about the rate will increase if u let the term expire. The key is switch before the cheap/term expires. I've saved a good bit. Only takes say 5 minutes a few times a yr.

The one rate I have now is a 12 month term. Saved apx 20% from WPP rate ! Why not do it ? When I get back to the computer I'll post some examples, WPP & DL.

I've used the site in the past... until the one time I didn't check carefully and after 6 or 12 months I was automatically enrolled in a 100% renewable energy source that was over 2 times the rate. I called and cancelled after I got the first bill, but have been gun shy since. I just checked and if I choose all the boxes, including "not an introductory rate," the best I get is a one cent savings per kwh, or a $10 savings per month. There was one that would have saved me about $37/month but it was for 3 months only, then the price is reset to an unknown amount. That's just not worth the worry and hassle for me. DLC customers don't seem to have many options.
