Man, that shit doesn't phase me. I open mine occasionally to clean out the inlet baffle. If it's working like it should it doesn't really smell.

Public sewer, lucky. We got a company that pumps ours out every year and a half due to it being so old. It's only $220 for my 1,000 gallon tank so not hateful.

That's not so bad. Lucky for us we are up on this hill gravity feed no grinder pump to run electric up and go bad. Part that bothers me is no matter how many in home flat rate $65. We are a home of two.... Neighbor is a widower he is the only one.

We also have public sewer , mid 70's my parents tied in . Our sewer bills have gone up and up over the years , now almost equal to our water bill! ~ $40-$60 a month.

Got a friend that lives over at the corner of Race Track and Hade near you. The sewer in the couple homes in the area actually dumps into a collector pit in their back yard, then drains South I want to say.

An even bigger kicker is Bear Valley Water runs along Hade a little bit below, but doesn't service that house IIRC. Which sucks as it is an only 25' hand dug well that you know is only picking up ground water.

Don't know if my township will ever get with time times. It has been brought up before and people shut down any discussion. I'm betting whenever I finally dump $35K into a new system they'll build the infrastructure :frusty:

I prefer septic over public. Once installed, it is less expensive. We will never have public sewer, water nor gas where we live. I would only like the gas.

Same here. I do have a 400 gallon propane tank. Ionly have my furnace and fireplace tied into it. Maybe someday the hot water tank and dryer, more the hot water tank than anything.

Ever consider a whole house generator as well? I’d like to get one and have it tied in to our heating oil tank

Yes. Can't afford it at the moment. Propane is cheap, relative to heating oil and gas and other fuels. Not as cheap as natural gas though.
