I'm a huge supporter of the AR platform but the only thing a 5.56 has going for it is the speed and in a pistol form you should just carry a 9mm.
With that said my new truck gun will be a C39 micro. A 762x39 wil have a LOT of muzzle flash but with this (arm brace) it's the only fake SBR that is under 26 1/2 in and is still legal to use as a CCW in PA.

 

Thought about a 9mm AR too

 

But I have a 700 in 308 I'd rather have one in AR platform

But you can get better 9mm setups. i'm still waiting for Glock to come out with a carbine. HK was designed for that cartridge and will be more concealable but then again no one gun is the best.
