Ok I finally unboxed my sliders and LCA skids from bamf .......they are fucking heavy and I still need to add full skid plates,front and rear bumper. So my question is how hard is it to get heavier springs installed on my overcoils and what lb rating should I get? Guessing I'll be adding over 500lbs of armor

I plan to get all pro expedition leaf pack for rear.

 

If your talking about my Patriot Edition High Lift on the top of the ARB bumper. It's in the cab in case it came off. I didn't want it to go through someones windshield .

 

If you're adding plate bumper on front, probably 650 lb springs, if adding a winch to the front, and upgrading to a marine battery, 700lb Springs should cover it. I would also recommend going to a 2.5 inch diameter coilover. Spring length will depend on what brand and the amount of preload that you want for lift.

 

This is the kit I have but I'm not sure what the spring rating is ? 600lb maybe. Do they make 750lb spring that fit my fox 2.5 over coils?

 

What's the factory load rating? I 've only used OME, if you look them up2884,2885,2886,2887 OEM also have additional weight your adding as the load rating. Some other springs manufacturers do a similar thing .

 

I think fox come with a 600lb spring but not sure how much I'll need after all the added weight.

 

Toytec is good to work with using a few phone calls, don't waste your time with emails, they are not good with them. I'm not very experienced with Fox products so I will not guess. Stock Springs are 545-560 IIRC depending on year and model. Simply divide added weight by 2 and add. I have not seen many references to 750lbs, I went with 700lbs and an extra inch of spring length to use as preload.

As an afterthought, Fox has a questionable reputation with corrosion, I would tape off the shafts and spray with clearcut to be safe. That brine is eating everything.

 

I found that out after I had them installed. I'm having krowns coating done next week I'll ask if they can spray them

 

I guess my stupidity in spending many hours of my time and the money on this build! It is my DD and I drive in very rural areas with limited cell reception for my sales territory in PA, NJ,MD, VA, WV. Well, the company was sold 10 days ago. I'm told I'll be with the newly formed much larger company in 2016. Not a good excuse, but, the reason! After New Years would have been better for many of us. Oh and I have no idea if this DD is acceptable for the new company. Not really angry just never take shit from anyone. And why go out of your way to bother someone on here who enjoys all this stuff?

 

My ARB bumper comes in at 150 lbs. with line X applied 5-7 lbs additional? Warn VR 8000 S 60 lbs. couple small LED lights and now 60" high lift I think 40lbs.
250 lbs additional weight up front . Using OME 2886 springs with 5100's for now.

 

My truck is close to 5200 lbs not fully armored yet, not winch, no camping gear, no passengers... I'm using 700lbs springs and Dakar leaf packs with aal...

I think the only way we can all move on and become friends is if we have a mod day. Everyone can met up and install all the parts I have for my truck. I know it's not a lot of work but I'll be open for free part donations so we can make a full day out of it.
