I have the next best thing other than locker..... Winch. Haha so I may pick the cap up

 

I've got two lockers & no winch.

Exactly you don't need the winch for you have the lockers and maxtrax. I only have winch for tough terrain. Haha. Idk. The more I think about it. I will probably only use it a half dozen times this year. But if it's shitty out any of those times it will be worth it. I'm kicking around getting a fishing kayak this year too. Sooo the cap may make it a little harder to load. But I think the yak is like 47lbs The cap comes with the roof rack and crossbars but there's no way in hell I'd try to lift a kayak up there. Haha.

 

Any ideas on cost to get the cap matched to my truck? I was thinking just black or red Derp. But idk

 

You could probably get it vinyl wrapped in Indiana for pretty cheap.

 

Hmm never thought of that. I'm still on the fence wether or not I want to get it. Just looking for ideas. Really only "use" it for sleeping in when I go off-roading. Other than that......

 

Just build a platform out of plywood that you can put a 5x7 tent on. What kinda hillbilly are you, using a fancy bed cap!

 

I never sleep in the bed but will always have a cap. First, I refuse to let my dogs ride up front, and its a semi-dry lockable place to store gear. Been wheeling for 19+ years and I've never owned a winch. Always had a come-a-long or a buddy and strap. When this gets stuck we just pick it up and move it.lol

Eh not really, only the gun thread every once in a while haha. My trucks retired to malls only. Tired of dealing with everything underneath rusted together, crumbling bolt heads, etc etc.

 

I hear ya, with the family, we seem to do less wheeling and more exploring these days. The expo scene suits me a lot better in my old age.

be glad you didn't get my skids. They were completely beat to shit haha. I guess getting high centered on the belly pan tends to bend unsupported steel.

 

Yea, I'm trying to move out west (northern AZ, UT, CO, ID) where there's more stuff to explore

Is there a date set for a RCreek meet? I'd be down. I somehow missed out on alerts thru PA thread the past couple weeks and am a little behind All I see is guns and sliders.

 

That's a very good question. We've only gotten as far as agreement that a trip needs to happen.
