I wasn't planning on getting rid of my Firestone destinations but when he said he wanted $100 for All 4 , the mud terrains are normally $250 apiece I тнoυgнт I just may have to jump on that deal.. my TRD rims are 16 inch and his tires are 17 inch so I would have to go out and buy another set of rims... ѕo I мay keep both sets and just use the mud terrains for when I go to Rausch Creek for the best traction then use my Firestone destinations for my street tires and light off road

I'd buy all 4, put them on a set of steelies, and if you still don't like them sell them with the wheels.

Quick question for you gear heads.

I'm sitting at the tire shop to get my tires rotated and I asked them to check the alignment. I started to ask him if he could fix my positive camber and try to keep the caster up as high as possible. He stopped me as soon as I said caster and told me that caster is not adjusted as part of a normal alignment and it would cost me around $180-$200 instead of $70 because it would be considered a custom alignment. He also said that I would need an alignment spec sheet from my lift kit... o_O

Is this bullshit?! How would you respond? I would have walked out, but I'm getting my free tire rotation because I bought the tires from them.

Caster adjustment is really only done with aftermarket UCAs it pulls the top of the spindle back and pushes the tire forward. If you aren't rubbing you don't need to worry about caster

I'd also say that any shop saying that is full of shit to charge that much.

I've had my caster adjusted with stock UCAs before at the same shop (different manager), right after I installed my lift. They increased it from .something to 1.6, but they had to give me slight positive camber. It's been that way for about two years and I'm starting to notice the outside tread wearing prematurely, which is why I asked them to realign. Oh well, I guess I'll just try another shop. Thanks guys.

You should be getting an alignment every 6 months as recommended by a member here who owns a tire shop.

Your adjustments are minimal considering you really need caster as close to 3 as possible

Ain't no way in hell you are gonna get anywhere near 3 degrees positive camber without aftermarket UCAS

    Total bullshit.

Our trucks have adjustable camber, caster and toe. Touching camber or caster affects all three. Toe can be adjusted without touching the other two.
Unless the shop is doing a 'Toe and Go' alignment because you asked them to, you need to find another shop.

If you're getting outside shoulder wear it's time to get Camber set closer to zero.

That said 170 is not all that bad for a full alignment.
