I'm surprised they don't cut the antlers off....if you hit one with a car and take the horns it's like $10 a point...or so I've been told.

 

Indiana county. That was 3 years ago, not sure if it's still happening.

 

I was just thinking that. Not for selling purposes, but I would love to find a supply like that for the dogs, they fucking love those things, and they do go for about $10-15 a point.

I would love to head up north to hunt for elk sheds. That would be awesome! If my dog wasn't a bird dog I would've either trained him to find sheds or mushrooms. Haha

I've thought about it too since my pup loves elk antlers (deer are too hard and brittle, elk is better too chew on) but roaming around the woods for hours trying to find something that blends in with downed branches...eh idk

 

Thought so. I haven't been out there for about 5 years.i used to go to the breast of yellowcreek and fish over the spill way, last year or the year before it was so low there was no water going over the spill way. Haven't been back since

 

If only it wasn't a 4 hour round trip lol.

You could make one out of natural materials and get away with it . Brush ,small logs and branches !

 

Antler traps are illegal in pa as stated above. Don’t get caught on gameland cause not only will you get fined, you will loose your hunting and fishing privileges. Also illegal to use any type of mineral licks on gamelands any time of year technically.

 

I saw this and thought it was one of our rendering trucks that made a mess again.

 

I had a buddy that would put pnut butter in the bottom of a 5 gal bucket, set it out in public. They would reach in and knock em off, he got wacked for an antler trap and got a fine. That was prolly 7-8 years ago now.

 

I find all mine in bedding areas. I got big into it a few years ago. Normally find 40-50 sheds a year now. It’s fun being outside and learning the land.

 

Just spotted probably a half dozen or so 4 runners all decked out with the good stuff at Ottos pub in State College must be a meet somewhere
