I have the key 200.4 and used the Taco Bell wire harness. I kept the two purple wires tapped into the front left channel and ran the under my seat for a sub someday. I have a chance to get the 8" hideaway and was looking at it's wire harness which has provisions for wiring two front channel speakers. Question: Can I only use one channel and tape of the other ? Would this just make it a mono and still work or does it require both channels to be hooked up ?

You can just use one if you want, but you can also use two. It just combines the two signals together.

mad for using the rear wiring that came installed on the Taco Bell harness, prepare for disappointment if you don’t cut them and splice them to the front channels instead. The rear channels are super anemic and get very little bass signal. The hideaway will have a hard time performing the way it’s intended

Are you going to put the hideaway under the front drivers seat?
I would like to know how well that fits on a 2nd gen once you get it installed. I am looking for a powered sub to put under the front drivers seat. I have done a ton of research on here but have not seen many pictures of how well it fits. I have WeatherTech floormats in the back of my DC and it looks like I may only have 8" of clearance from the Weather Techs to a hump past the vents under the seat. I think the Hideaway is about 9 3/8" deep (or wide) however you want to look at it.

Mr. Meek: just bought my harness from them a couple months back and it was tapped in to the front. There was another guy who mentioned this also. They must have figured this out and reconfigured it.
Kzceh: sad story but no longer have the 2 nd gen. I have a 2020 OR but I can't figure out how to change it in my info.
