I'm curious has anyone ran these as mid bass driver for the factory replacements I have a 14 double cab non jbl and was thinking these might pack some good punch (obviously with an amp) for mid bass. I still have all factory setup and was gonna slowly start replacing everything. I want some input on speakers please. I've read the sticky thread where you can run the wrx kicker tweets up front and its one hell of an upgrade. But what did everyone do for the lower woofer. Anyone have any good recommendations on some mid bass drive that sound good on a stock head unit or amped later on? Kicker, skar, jl, focal, kenwood... Thanks guys.

Definitely do not put those in your doors. They are not made to be midbass drivers, and are not made to be in an open air environment like a door panel, or mounted on thin sheet metal like a door panel. Even though it is small, it is still a subwoofer at heart and wants to be treated like one

This is the answer I needed after seeing some reviews people had put them in doors of Chevys.

Then in my understanding a set of component speaker would work. I just got the truck in Feb. Is there adapters for the tweets or is it still worth it to run the wrx tweets.

You want a bomb stereo it costs$. It may be better to decide on your price point first and go from there.

I just put in Hertz component speakers and 12” woofer, Alpine mids in place of the dash tweeters along with 2 alpine amps. Before I knew it I was at 2k. Worth it. The guys at local stereo shop even were impressed. One guy came out with a thumb drive to play in my system.

I dropped 3k in my f350 about 6 years ago and loved it but I'm not looking for 2 12s and 3 amps and tuning and all the other crap that came with it. My buddy is a professional installer and built the box and did most of the install for some trades so really cut down on my cost. Haven't talked to him as much lately. He's moved on to home a/v and smart homes now. He's got a bad ass supercharged tundra with a full blown system in it. I'd love to have that but I don't have 20k to drop on that shit lol

This is my daily/crawler/hunting rig. I was think new head unit, speakers in the front for now and maybe 1 sub depending on the quality of the speakers. I don't mind the stock system just want better clarity of the mids, highs and lows.

I figure with quality speakers and maybe a sub would do plenty for me this go around. Don't want to scare off Bambi. I know I can put a bass knob in or turn it down on the head unit but to be honest I'm over the big booming subs now, I have 2 12s in my shop if I need it lol.

I like the joying west head unit. I think that's the brand but it basically like the new tacomas. Then and amp and new speakers probably around 1k -1.5k with sub probably 2k.

The stereo isn't my main project I'm working on but the speakers are showing age. Thats kinda my first thought is get some new ones in the get a new head unit then amp and maybe sub if necessary.

If you want a woofer I got a custom built box from Taco Tunes online, like $149. I think. It fit one Alpine 12” perfectly behind driver seat. I have 2 amps for overkill. You can get 1 amp with the proper power and crossovers
