And I would go ahead and run the blue wire. You shouldn’t need it, but lots of folks are saying they did need it, so I would go ahead and run it while you’re running your speaker wires. Won’t add any extra time, and might save you a bunch of time from having to run another wire later in the day

Ok thanks, I think I have a matching or similar speaker wire gauge here at home for the extensions. Its not color coded though.

That's fine, as long as you know what is what.

So what's the consensus. Best place to put the Hideaway. Behind the rear seat. Under the driver seat . Behind the rear seat. Destin , what's your take on this.

Under the driver seat was super easy. I just wish it didn’t block the climate control vents under there.

This can be a personal preference. I personally like to go under one of the front seats, but I know that our trucks have a lot of stuff that can be under those seats. I don’t have power seats so I have more room than someone with all the wiring and motors that go along with power heated seats and all that. Also, if you have people in the back seat pretty frequently, there’s always a chance of feet hitting it. Also keep in mind if you’re pretty tall or short. This will impact how far your seat is slid back, which may either cover the sub up better, or expose it more.

I personally don’t like behind the back seat, unless you plan on removing the cubby on whichever side you’re mounting it. I feel like the plastic cubby would rattle pretty bad, but I have not done this so I’d search “hideaway” on the forum and see how others like it mounted here. I may be completely wrong in my thinking

X2 on this. But those vents aren’t good for much anyway

Ive put a few wires together, and understand the gray wires on the main harness are for the speaker inputs, and the blue is for the amp powerup. Will I also need to use the smaller harnesses? If so what is their purpose?

Smaller harness is only rear speakers. No need for them if only doing a hideaway

Thank you. I did previously install the Kicker rear speakers, should I just keep them as is?

So here is what I'm looking at on the head unit. Do I only use the Metra harness on the spot indicated?

Ok I'm a bit confused on something; so I have the speaker inputs on the Hideway harness which are white and white/black for the left, and grey and grey/black for the right. How do I know which wires on the Metra harness these attach to? They both are the same colors. I really appreciate the help guys.

You need to make a T with the hideaway wires and the metra wires. This simply allows the hideaway to get the audio signal, but still passes the audio through to the speakers

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, what is making a T? How would they connect?

Connect all 3 together basically. All 3 grey, and all 3 grey/black

Are you saying to connect all these together? (I still have to connect the extensions up to the dash)

Yes. And you’ll T off those that’ll be +/- for left and +/- for right. That’ll be the speaker input to the Hideaway.
