Yeah my system now is all bass and no speaker volume! After 530$ I'm pretty unhappy as is. Hopefully the kicker key helps me out....

    This???

    Metra 70-1761

I'm going to be super disappointed if I need this and crutch didnt add it to my custom cart. I was hoping to get a complete set and just figure it out from there....

    How many do I need?

There are two part numbers. Each one is 1/2 of the required harness that you will solder together. It is all in the other thread.

Yes those are the TWO harnesses. You match each half and then “T” in your Key and Hideaway connections. One set is the Head unit end and the other is the OEM harness end. Once completed you have one for front and one for rear connections.

Crutchfield can’t read minds. Some people want to leave their OEM wiring unmolested and therefore they will go for the harnesses. Others will try and save a buck and just scotch lock into the OEM wiring. If you don’t ask you can’t assume they will automatically guess you want it.

I asked Crutch about it this morning. They had no idea what I was talking about and didn't even sell the 71-1761. They suggested I buy a $170 line out converter?

OP. Get the harness if you wish as it would be a cleaner install. Although I've been crimping and splicing cables since I was a teenager and never had issues as long as the wire was the correct gauge and things were fused. I only use a harness when it makes the wiring simpler or when I know I will want to replace the system one day. I'm not ever planning on doing anything else to my truck's audio. It is dying with the truck one day. Please realize that OCD gets the most out of some folk I guess. o_O

Something must not be right with your external amp, I have kicker speakers, subaru tweeters, and the hideaway ( no added amp) and can get little bass or lots of bass using the wired bass dial switch. I typycally leave it in the center setting.

I don’t know why you are still keeping this thread alive. There are other threads that have already answered most of the questions you keep asking. Go read them and learn from the quest and solutions already posted.
