Uh oh, let me guess that the JBL system doesn't work with this and I dove head first without reading that....

I seem to remember watching a video from kicker where they wire the key amp into a vehicle with stock amp. I’ll try and find it unless you think it’s a waste of time...

It’s possible to make this amp work in the JBL system, but not at all worth actually doing it.

I had the same issue, I ended up buying a 500 mono amp but my connectors on my 2020 head unit was different and I could not find a harness to make it all work.

I have the Kicker Key 200.4 as well. I have the tacotoons add an amp harness as well. I noticed that the input wires on the Kicker input are a different gauge wire than the tacotoons harness. Can I still cut the RCA cables and use butt connectors to connect them together even though they are different gauges?

Yeah, you can. I think the red butt connectors are for like 16 gauge to 22 gauge. I used the red ones and don’t have any issues (doesn’t hurt to throw some electrical tape on them afterwards as well...I do that regardless)

If you want to be real slick you can de-pin the TT harness as well as the key harness and slide the pins from the TT harness into the Key harness, no cutting or splicing required. It is a pain if you don't have the right tools though.

What about the Blue wire on the Key output harness? Where does that connect to? I’m new at this if y’all can’t tell.

That’s for the remote turn on if the amp. If you have a 2020 Tacoma there is no wire that I ever found that works with it. So I just taped mine off. The amp turns on with just the signal in the speaker lines (set the dip switch to DC instead of 12v)

StormTroop425 I read your post on that. I tried to do that with no luck. I tried using a small screwdriver for glasses.

The TT harness just has bare wires on the ends (the other ends are male and female and used elsewhere). What am I missing here?

@mwrood @DamGuide I was just wandering if there was a common denominator with us and white noise... could it be due to something else we’ve installed?

FWIW I grounded the amp to the right of the HU where some other stuff was grounded...

Ive installed led interior lights, Oem tailgate lock and Germes Car soloutions front camera...

I must admit when I removed the amp I never did check for white noise with original speakers installed, only with the aftermarkets. Maybe something to do with the tweeters?

I’ve removed the amp and no white noise at all, it’s definitely the amp.

I ran power and ground to the battery directly, still white noise. It’s a common issue with this amp beyond our truck from what I found online. I just think most people don’t notice it or care.

I agree. I think it’s just the amp itself. I bypassed the amp and had white noise.

With that said, I just picked up a 2021 Sport so I’ll check if it has any white noise completely stock
