Jbl tweeter plug is two pin and kicker tweeter has four. Has anyone with Jbl upgraded their dash tweeters with good results? If so please share best speaker options for dash, doors and sub.

The reason for the four pins on the kicker tweeters is that they are designed to be wired in parallel with the ones in the door like the cheap stock dash speaker/tweeter. The non-JBL setup is wired that way which is why the door speaker stops working when you remove the dash speaker. They share a common channel from the amp built into non-JBL head unit. I don’t have JBL but with two pins being there it must be direct wired to the JBL amp with a dedicated channel.

In that case anything you can fit in there will work including a dedicated tweeter of any manufacturer. You would simply wire them in as normal by cutting the factory connector and splice the wires if you can’t find an adaptor harness.

I made a custom bracket for kicker stand alone CS series tweeters using a piece of metal strap:82450AC8-23F2-4691-A46B-C63A5296FD4B.jpg I also transplanted the wire connector off the old junk speaker and wired it to the new tweeter. Sounds great.

I did a DIY to help the non JBL crowd, you might be able to do something like it yourself:

One other thing was I had seen where the JBL was 2 OHM and I think the Kickers are 4. More than likely I'll dump these on market place and order 2 OHM can anyone confirm this?

Most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm but 2 ohm models are out there. You are much better off with that as clearly if a 2ohm came out, the amp is ok with it and going to a 4ohm obviously adds resistance lowering the wattage the amp can feed it.
