i really wouldnt give a rats ass if he was jumping up and down in my truck bed...

id just stare at him and wonder why he had any reason to be doing it.

you were the dick for driving off and damn well knowing that it isnt safe for someone to be standing up while the vehicle is in motion.

you got something against the kid? or what?

If you dont know that by throwing the vehicle in reverse, slamming on brakes, and attempting to throw him out of the bed onto the pavement can cause great bodily harm then you obviously need more help than just anger management

It's the possibility of what could have happened that makes it dangerous. What happens if you gassed it right as the kid jumped off? If you ran him over?

Sure it doesn't sound like much, and call us stupid all you want (Even though you asked if you were overreacting)
Just sit back and imagine how you'd feel explaining to someone's mother that you killed their son because he was irritating you.

Yes, you over reacted. Nobody got hurt. Count yourself lucky and resolve not to do that again.

You may feel it wasn't a big deal, but it most certainly would be a big deal if you were sitting in a courtroom with a judge and jury and a bunch of pictures of someone's split head being displayed.

Sometimes surviving the fight isn't the end of your problems. There is a city firefighter in my town up on felony assault charges for beating a guys head in (literally). They both maintain that the other guy started it. At this point it does not matter, one guy didn't have a scratch on him, the other guy has screws in his eye sockets now. Once he hit the ground it was no longer self defense. I wouldn't want to be in that guys shoes right now.

if you don't jump around on someones truck (while they're in it no less), you can't get tossed out of the back, pretty simple. I see nothing wrong with what you did at all.
