Good for you for being mature. In all honesty I feel sorry for this kid; yeah he did minor damage to your truck and he's going to pay for it but all things considered it sounds like this guy has it a lot worse off than you do. And all being said, nothing warrants his idiotic, immature behavior. Again, good for you for handling it responsibly.

    Kids doin the right thing.

Small claims court goes quickly - you don't need to pay a lawyer - just be organized.

Get your witness statements ASAP. Call em up, have them write it out, and sign it in front of a cop. Have everything ready before you go to court. All small claims court is, usually, is a retired judge that is playing mediator. If you have all your stuff organized, pictures, estimates, and witness statements, the judge might not even need to talk to the kid at all. Also, on your estimates- get a full repair estimate. It might not have paint damage now, but the dent removal process might cause some by virtue of just pushing it back out - get a full estimate to put it back to exact, and if it seems high, get another dealer estimate on straight panel replacement. Show up with more than one estimate/solution, let the judge decide which is best. You'll end up with possible a bigger check for it, and might not need to repaint, then voila - there's your "don't get even, get ahead" right there. Also feel free to serve papers to him in a way so his parents see it, he might feel like lying in front of a judge even though he admitted it to you privately, you never know. Parents have a way of slapping a kid upside the ahead and encouraging them to be honorable... or else!

    Good luck to you.

Um, yeah, except air doesn't cause blood clots.

And even if it did, so what? That's basically a stroke you just described. They don't kill everyone.

Small Claims Court is a great way to go. You're approaching this in a mature manner. The problem that arises is COLLECTING what the court awards. The kid will have a judgment put against him, but at his age and obvious level of maturity, he probably won't give a shit.

If all else fails son, here's what you do. Go down to an adult book store and buy a couple of the nastiest, most perverted, gay male porno magazine on their shelves. Next, on your printer, print mailing labels with his name and mailing address on it, make it look official and put them on the mags. After you do that (since school is out) go to a couple of the places that are frequented by kids from your school and casually leave a magazine on the shelf over the sink in each Men's Room. Then sit back and enjoy your summer knowing that if you didn't get the money, you at least got ahead.
