Kids Games...

So my girlfriend has an interview tomorrow for a camp counselor position at the YMCA, and she needs to have a game or activity to present that is supposed to be fun and educational. Also I'm thinking they want an activity that can be done with little resources, not a board game. I'm assuming its going to be middle schoolers. I'm trying to help her but I suck at this stuff. Any Ideas?

 

capture the flag? one of the best camp games imo

to get out of jail a team has to learn a new word in addition to the normal rules? idk

But seriously Capture the Flag could teach teamwork and communication between the players strategy if they are serious enough with it.

What do you guys think about a game where you yell out colors or objects and the kids had to run to the object or color? That would be educational I think. Any modifications to this that you all can think of?

Kinda like this but at Boy Scout Camp 5ish years ago they did this with knots.

each troop (5-15 boys) had a line, and you ran across the field where a note card had the name of a knot on it. You had to tie it (5 pts), or you could run back and get someone else to come and tie the knot (3 pts), or skip (0 pts)

I had a blast (we won )
