I have a 9 and 5 year old both in boosters and they dont have any issues. I can see how a rear-facing seat would be cramped, but thats true for basically anything except for a full size truck or suv. Those rear facing seats are the devil

The Diono 3RXT with the angle adjuster when used rear facing makes it just bearable. You will still need to move the seat forward, but it’s not as terrible compared to the Graco KeyFit 30 which requires slamming the seat all the way up. I plan to get a second Diono for our second who just turned 3 months and put that behind the passenger seat with the angle adjuster. Our 3 year old sits behind me forward facing - she’s just over 35 lbs. Ended up buying a molle seat back cover to protect it from all the kicking. :)

I'm 5'9 , wife is 5'5 with stupid long legs. It's a tight fit with reverse facing car seats if you have 2. If it's 1 seat and it's on the person that doesn't need a lot of leg room room you'll be ok. It gets a little better with booster seats. It's best when they don't need them. Invest in wet okole seat covers. They are life savers. I have an 09. I had them on since the beginning. By the time they come off the car will be vintage interior. It's not super roomy but the kids like the smaller enclosure. My son who always had a hard time sleeping would always pass out in the truck. It's definitely doable. The wife might bitch but she won't when you're passing by half ton trucks in your lifted taco in the winter.
