    Correct
I’ve installed an in-line switch to the fuel pump on my Chevy. Not sure if this low tech approach is the best way with this Tacoma.

Useless, in my opinion. Thieves know modern cars are tough to hot wire. If they want your truck bad enough, having a kill switch won’t slow them down.

What universe do you live in were the common carjacker has a fucking tow truck and goes around just grabbing cars all day without getting caught?

I have a buddy who a few years back had a 2001 integral type R. Babied the shit out of it. Left it outside one day and they towed it. Kill switches didn’t help. Cameras seen a truck pull right up and take it. Was found in a field and looked like scrap metal

Wow, I guess some people are out there doing this then. People are crazy. I guess the lesson here is that if you have a nice car you don't want stolen, store it in a garage? Or maybe an armed guard? I would think a kill switch would stop 98% of car thieves, but I guess you can't stop someone who really wants something and will do anything to get it. @phsycle sorry! I guess you might be right. Living in a rural area, I haven't even heard of that approach.

The way I see it is if they want it that bad they will get it. But you can do as much possible to slow them down. There are smart thieves out there haha

I just finished a kill switch install on my 2nd gen. Very easy to do if you have common electrical knowledge. The dealer I bought my taco from was kind enough to provide me the wiring diagrams. Call me paranoid but I installed 2 switches and another surprise switch wired to a hellahorn. The horn and ignition kill are wired together. I turn on the hella switch on when I turn the ignition switch off so that if a would be theif finds the kill switch as soon as he provides power to ignition the horn blares 120db.
Redundancy is key in my opinion.
I do understand that if they want it bad enough they'll get it, but like bridge4 pointed out.

Yeah, it’s crazy how fast a car can be towed. But luckily, I have a garage so I don’t even lock my doors at night. :D

Hopefully they know how to bypass the proximity key.

Otherwise, if they do steal mine, hopefully they wreck and total it after they get it....goodbye car payments :anonymous:

I'm new to this idea. Can you clarify for me, each time after parking, you pop the hood and activate the kill switch?
