I live in the Middle East (Lebanon), and car theft is on the rise. They steal them and send them to Syria.

what’s a good setup for a kill switch? How would I even install one? I just want my truck to be difficult to steal.

here they either Hotwire your car or they set up a road block and take it at gun point.

    thanks.

Rig it with a bomb and arm it every time you park.
Just don't forget to disarm it before you start it.

Kill switch isn't gonna help at a roadblock bro. They'll just kill you instead

For the switch I'd just hide a small switch in the console or under the steering wheel that cuts power to the fuel pump

I would get a factory switch... for an option that is available on the Tacoma but not on your truck. Then it can be in plain site. Wire it up as a fuel pump kill and an ignition kill. Do your best to make the wiring as factory looking as possible.

In the end though... this is just a stop gap... if they really want it, they will take it.

Not sure about which wire but I'm sure someone on here has a wiring diagram. Maybe @caribe makaira can help.

No this wouldn't damage anything. Just acts like it has no fuel

wouldn't a latching relay/momentary switch setup be a better option than a spst switch?

i would do an inline ground switch for the starter but maybe that would be too much of a pain to run into the vehicle.

In the 80s lots of people had these homemade coil kill switch...very simple and effective. Most people put the switch under the seat. For fun you can put a few similar switches that don't do anything, and in case someone actually finds the switch, they will get confused and thinks its a combination.

    Good Luck my Friend.

The switch you posted is meant for large gauge cable. The solenoid uses small gauge wire.

i was mostly representing how easy it would be to disable the car by breaking a ground but in terms of swich size i would rather be able to handle more power vs the opposite.
