Interesting. I hadn't thought of this, so thank you for mentioning it!

    Hi all,

    Favor to ask...

Could anyone post a photo of their rear tie down d-rings in the truck bed with the kimbo loaded and the rachet straps tightened??

My d-ring "base plate" lifted up once the rachet straps were tightened. Not sure if this is normal or not (2nd gen tacoma fyi). The d-ring base plates are not sitting flat on the truck bed now. I can now see a silver cylindrical part coming up through the bed that the d-ring base plate attaches to. Very similar to the pictures seen in post # 1543 of this thread.

    Thanks!!

It's not the GoalZero 500x (different connections) but someone on here is sure to be able to identify it.

If you are electrically handy, going the custom route would likely be cheaper and more reliable.

Honestly, at this point you could put a much better battery (and charger, etc.) if you pieced it together yourself. Probably cheaper, too. I have a 100Ah battery which is double the storage of the current Bluetti boxes that come with the latest campers.

I think I found a way to raise and lower the spare, but it does require some work ahead of time:
    1. Install the axle dump exhaust so the stock tailpipe (for the Off Road and other trims) doesn't get in the way.
    2. Get a second jack tool that would normally go all the way through the bumper and attach to the raising mechanism, and cut the tool shorter
    3. Use a drill to attach to the jack tool to wind the raising mechanism either up or down.

Sort of a run-around, but unfortunately with the tailgate down there aren't many options for putting a spare tire holder on a swing out. None that I've seen at least.
