So looking at it more, if you just trim down the top edge so it sits just below the mattress and create a slot on the bottom, you could keep it looking pretty stock with the support in place.

@Voltron4x4 I passed you yesterday on i70. I was heading back up from the airport and you were southbound. Where'd you ski this weekend?

Yeah man. Was at Bluebird Backcountry Resort. My GF was taking her Avy 1. Cool spot with camping in the parking lot and a free bacon hut you can skin to. Great community and very dog friendly. Sage got his first backcountry laps in.

Voltron, if you have a parts list and any instructions on how you installed your cubic mini I would love to see it. I ended up changing around my setup and I am pretty sure i have enough room for it.

    I am mostly interested in:
1: What length of pipes you used and if they were all insulated.
2: How you did the insulation. I saw it is mineralwool but i dont think ive seen any with a foil layer like that before.
3: Your flashing boot. It does not look like the standard one from cubic mini. Was it something more like this one https://www.amazon.ca/Extreme-Angle...63&hvtargid=pla-1363623385904#customerReviews ?

Here’s the link for the insulation.
Roxul 40260 Insulation, Wool, Foil Backing

I have 2 20in insulated pipes, one that’s permanent and the other I slide on when ready to use the stove. There is also a non insulated adapter section.

The pipes I sourced from Tiny Wood Stove. They have a calculator I used. https://www.tinywoodstove.com/

Here is where I sourced the boot from. The angle one did not work that well. Purchased the regular one.

Let me know if there’s anything else.

Also, with the permanent 20in section that comes out of the Kimbo, it’s still pretty flush with the roof which is nice.

    It's complicated.
In a tight &/or quick turn it could induce a rollover by forcing the air from the outside bag (which would deflate completely) while over-inflating the inside bag, which would suddenly shift the weight & momentum of the vehicle.

Hey guys, just got my Kimbo 1/14/23 and living in it full time, climbing across the country. Looking for some storage solutions/ideas and remember seeing some mesh netting in the threads somewhere that easily clipped into the little black screws. I can’t find them now and was wondering if anyone had a link? Also looking to turn the closet/jacket space into storage and looking for quick easy hacks since I’m on the road.

Any storage solutions/ideas that don’t involve drilling into the body is much appreciated. I’m thinking of trying to find a good canvas pouch to hang under each individual wire basket.

I'm getting my own Kimbo in the next year, and I'm trying to figure out if having that A/C box present makes it easier to get in and out of bed. Did you get it?

I didn’t get A/C. Just gonna keep open and ventilated in the summer as I mostly will be chasing good climbing weather. Thanks for sharing those mesh pouches Howls! I remembered seeing them but for the life of me couldn’t find the link again or remember where I saw it. I picked up my Kimbo in Portland and drove down 101 to Joshua Tree where I will be until late February. Loving the Kimbo so far, learning all the little quirks of cooking and keeping the temp/humidity perfect with cold desert nights.

I used to spend a lot of time in Joshua Tree when I was in the military. Love the place at night. Best of luck. I'll be full time too but have a couple of years left before I can retire. Being free to come and go and linger a day or two is my dream. Best of luck on the rocks. Pour one out for Gram for me in Joshua.

Something like this may fit in the hanging closet area. Im looking at building wood shelves in there this spring. Much easier to roll and stuff jackets and whatever in there.

Hey all, sorry for the repost but about a month ago i was looking for a buyer to take over my Kimbo order (long story short i ran into some medical issues and cant go through with the order). Kimbo got back to me yesterday, they said they are willing to work with me and another buyer to transfer over the build into the new buyers name and they can handle payment and all that with Kimbo directly. This would be great for someone looking to order and skip the wait. They are about to start the build so there is time to adjust the build to your customized needs. They said it should be ready for pick up by 3/3/23. If anyone's interested please reach out to me, It would help me out a lot. If anyone has suggestions on where else I may have luck on posting this that'd be greatly appreciated as well!

How did you install your ski rack? I currently have mine attached to the jack plates, but that means I can’t use the jacks without taking them off.

I have mine installed the exact same way. Low footprint and super easy to do. You notes the main problem; the other I’ve found is that unless you put some aluminum (or whatever material you choose) offsets in there to bring the ski racks closer together, a modern ski is going to be pinched at the points where the rocker of the skis begin. You’re effectively putting a constant force on that part of the ski…which is something I’m a bit worried about, but it’s an easy remedy if I can find some stock aluminum rectangular tubing.DA194182-1FFA-4380-9F4E-5C2A74C8E792.jpgD228BC75-6137-464A-B2F8-5B35D5985092.jpg
