IMG_2224.jpg I did some side work today for a GMC / Buick dealer moving cars from one dealership to another. As you can see my taco is parked right infront and was there all day. After I was done driving GMC trucks all day I get into my truck to leave. I started it up, put in "Drive" and it wouldn't budge. I tried it in "Reverse" and it still wouldn't move. I let it set for awhile, tried it again and again and it still wouldn't move. I called Toyota Care and they dispatched a tow ruck after I waited an hour and a half. As the driver was preparing to tow my truck, I tried putting it in gear again and it suddenly started to work and I drove it home. I guess I'll bring it to the dealer tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll hear them say " we couldn't duplicate the problem" and nothing will get accomplished.

If I remember correctly, there was another guy here where his would not move too, but he was right across the street from the Toyota Dealer. After towing it across the street I think they told him they could not figure out what caused the issue and sent him on his way.

I'm surprised a GM sales guy didn't try and sell you a new truck.. I'd have been all over that and pics of tow truck .... and posted ...

Wow.... tried the shame tactic.. that never works. I'd have said, yeah lets go inside and talk with the sales mgr and see what he thinks??

I had a car towed away from a car show that I wasn't in

Went to a show called concourse de elegance to look at cars and enjoy the day and towed my old blazer away when the fuel pump quit. Funny now but not so much then.

Trade it in for an extended cab diesel Colorado, can't be any worse than that safety issue riddled piece of poo. If that happened to my new truck I would park it sideways in front of the Toyota dealer and throw the key on the roof and say fix your shitty unsafe turd, I'm not driving my family in it. And bring in the news stations too.

Yes I did and I'm thinking that might of somehow caused the problem. Before this truck I had a 2016 4cyl and the same thing happened one time after a car wash. Both trucks left car wash ok, parked and after stuck in drive. Maybe just a coincidence because I sure don't see how water could cause a problem like this. Each truck after they sat for awhile it started to work. Maybe something to do with torque converter.....who knows

Did the Dealer figure out what caused it?

Has happened to myself and a few others on here, just the brakes flash-rusting themselves seized I believe...

When it happened to me I was super confused, got out, kicked the tires, rocked the truck back and forth and side to side and got back in and it went with no problem after that.
