Is there articulation at that point, or is it fixed in place?

So basically, if you're willing to spend the money on King 3.0s then you might as well just go long travel?

you could say that. you could also say that I have 5 bucks so i should get chicken instead of fish. they are for different applications. both do their own thing.

you could say that, but you'd be getting a pretty bad piece of fish for $5

At the time the King 3.0s were new and I wanted to test them out. The most appealing thing to me was the lower maintenance. You still get a decent level of performance out of the 3.0s (obviously not as much as an LT with a bypass shock). I would have liked to try a different spring on those shocks, the 550s that come with the King 3.0s were too soft and I couldnt even fit 33s with it cranked up. The ride with those springs was really nice though. The 650x14 (i think these were too long) and so at times it got really uncomfortable going over things. Ive sold the truck a while ago and got a BMW M3. I regret selling the truck but Im looking at trying out a Gladiator Rubicon once i get the M3 sold. If I had a Tacoma to start with from scratch would I buy the 3.0s again though, the answer is probably no. I would have just done a LT.

    Lots to come
this only issue with king 3.0s is that they are not designed to be extended travel. they are the maximum performance you can get out of the stock travel in the truck. they are too big to go to the extended travel setups. i suggest opting to the 2.5in kings with extended travel and a rtx rear spring and 2.5in rear. this will allow you almost 10in of travel. from there its long travel.

3” lift with Bielstein 5100’s. Old Man Emu springs, SPC Upper Control Arms with an add a leaf in the rear. CBI Aluminum Front Bumper with overland full skid plates. Rough Country Ditch Lights, Rough Country 20 Front Bumper Light Bar. Custom RTT bars. Smittybilt Roof Top Tent. Smittybilt XRC Gen 3 Winch.
I’m have a 2017 Off Road Long Bed, running Bielstein 5100’s 3” Lift, Old Man Emu Springs, SPC Upper Control Arms and add a leaf. Thought I’d be fine with that until I added A CBI Aluminum Front Bumper, Smittybilt XRC Gen 3 Winch, CBI Steel Overland Full Steel Skid Plates and Lower Control Arm Skid Plates, also run a Roof Top Tent. Really considering the Kings 3.0 front and rear. Feeling like I’m sagging and am afraid to go hard with all the weight. Big investment for the 3.0 Kings. Can I get some feedback if anyone thinks I’ll have issues later with so much weight on my current set up? Been mostly doing fire roads and some medium difficulty Off Roading for fly fishing. Should I just pull the trigger and go with King’s. Any thoughts?

I personally haven't had any experience with the 3.0's but from reading above statements I'd just go with a god 2.5, King/ Fox whatever color you like. I'm running pretty similar set up truck on Fox 2.5 w/ 600 springs works very well, give Accutune a call and they'll get you going the right direction
