I didn’t need to drill any holes to mount the remote reservoir for my 2.5s.

I’m not sure why you repeated that you have a 3” lift, because it is my assumption that whatever you have is being replaced by the King coilovers.

Just based off your comments I don’t think you’ll be using these shocks to there potential, a 3.0 is way overkill in the front for a non long traveled truck, why don’t you just stick with 2.5’s and see if King can make you a finned resi for the 2.5’s if they don’t already. Save some money for somewhat of the same look. If King or the companies selling the 3.0’s are selling them as a OEM shock then yes they should be a direct bolt in. Only problem I could see would be with the larger diameter spring coming into contact with your UCA especially if it’s heimed.

You will not see a 3” lift from these unless you are adjusted way beyond the suggested length. These are marketed as a 1.5 - 2.5” lift and because these are listed with those heights and a Gen 2 - Gen 3 fitment I would expect these to be about a 1.5” lift on the front as they get about an inch lower lift compared to the second Gen trucks with the same suspension. If you want a 3” lift keep looking.

Agree. If you're doing this for looks OP, you do you. But you wont even come close to using their full potential. And as mentioned you will not have 3" of lift after installing these.

But to directly answer your question, yes I *think* they will be compatible with standard Tacoma LCAs based on what I've read.

I’m just stating I already have the lift I want, but from your statement below, adding these shocks will in fact lower my truck then?

What type of lift do you have now? If it is a top-hat spacer, then technically you could combine it with your king coilovers, but it sounds super rinky-dink.

If you have aftermarket coilovers, then no you cannot combine them with the king coil overs.

    Hell no
    I did it correctly
I went with the upgraded coilovers, I have the Elka 2.0s and they’re adjusted to 3 inches in the front (same as the rear) the 3 inches includes the stock ride height of the TRD Sport, so not 3 inches on top of the stock ride height but included

So don't take this the wrong way, but it seems like you're very new at this. As I said before, if you have a specific vision in mind for how you want your truck to look - and if the King 3.0s get you there with the massive finned resi's and shock bodies, then do it up.

But if you're looking for lift, or for performance, or anything else you should spend some time on here and on google looking stuff up. Theres a ton of questions when it comes to this stuff, and Id bet all of them have been answered at some point or another on here.

To give you some perspective, I only know of a few folks on here that run these King 3.0s. So you are in somewhat unknown territory. If you are after a specific look or feel to your build you most likely will be able to find it for a much more attractive price going another route.

Heimed is the joint of the upper control arm. Basically you have uniballs instead of the urethane bushing others have. They give you more adjustablitity.

Regarding the 3.0s Do what you want, any shock replacement kit is just going to give you a max of 2.5 on any lift. Don't expect to go above that without doing more as your CV axles go to complete hell past 2.5 ins.

The 3.0 shock kit from king will fit a stock Tacoma as a direct replacement, as that is how it is sold. Call KING up and they will tell you exactly what your asking.

Its an OEM replacement so youre good to go.

FYI thats not doing it right...
If you did it right you would have king, fox, ads, or icon and not be posting this question here. You also wouldn't think 3" is a good call.

Read more, this forum is flooded with information.

Only real advice I can give is research, research, research before you buy or youre just going to spend money left and right replacing stuff.

All I want to know is why Elka does not count as a quality brand compared to others listed? Because that is one ignorant statement to suggest they are any less than what's listed.

Just because he didn't list it doesn't mean he's implying they are not a quality brand.
