Are the bottom end of these bump stops some kind of Teflon material?
Icon makes the bottom end where they make contact with the lower plate out of some type of steel and it makes noise every time they hit.
I always thought it would be a good idea to use some other type of material to reduce that contact noise.

I know these are sold, but it got me thinking. Why do people not use air bumps on their Tacomas as opposed to the rubber like the Timbrens? Cost is the big difference I can think of but I imagine these work much better. I usually only see this type on desert trucks as opposed to an expedition style. Why is this?

    Reason 1: Price
Reason 2: Hydro bumps take work to set up properly. Things that have to be considered when setting up a hydrobump are travel length, diameter, shim stack set up, nitrogen pressure, mounting options and angles.

Can you buy a hydrobump kit and slap it on? You sure can, but the people that want to do that typically don't want to spend the extra money either.
