Different world, but I had them on my Jeep JKU. Changed them a few times just to see what it was like, but I eventually dialed them in where I wanted and never touched them again. If I hadn’t had the option to change them, I wouldn’t have noticed. I’d say skip it.

Compression adjusters make sense in three scenarios:
Changing weight - loading and unloading between trips and DD use
Changing terrain - if you want to DD but also run whoops
Particular - if you are very particular and want absolute fine adjustment

Note that not all compression adjusters are created equal, here's more info on how the King adjusters work:

I am about to purchase King Suspension also and I had the same questions myself. Upon research that I did myself messaging people, talking to venders (Downsouth Motorsports etc).

Ultimately I will not select the compression adjusters, I will purchase the standard extended Kings.

I had a 4runner with Icons before and I never needed to have adjusters, and realistically to me it will be annoying to get out and change the settings. I messaged alot of folks on IG and asked their opinion and many said that the Kings come out of the box perfect without the need of the adjusters.

Save the $300 and do not get them.

Honestly it depends on what the use is. If you spend your week driving pavement and then go wheeling all weekend the difference in valving is extremely noticeable. If you never leave pavement it's wasted money.

I go camping like 10 times a year. So I off road alot actually. Still not getting them since I had ICON's previously and never had the thought of needing adjusters or missing out on them. Most people set the adjusters how they like and forget them anyway.

Never thought the ride was harsh/soft during off road or city driving with my ICON non adjuster coils.

Seems like the it's split right down the middle. Some people prefer adjusters and others do not. I'm stuck now... I don't know if its worth just getting the adjusters for the rear so i can change it depending on the load in the rear of the truck. A lot of good info and links in this thread.

If you're that on the fence, just get it. Worst case is you set and forget and you "wasted" $300.

That's the problem, $300 is not a small chunk of change for many. If money was no issue everyone would be getting the adjusters correct?

Many spent $300 and adjusted once and forgot about it. But if they did not get the adjusters there is no need to adjust and 99% chance you will be happy with them out of the box and have $300 in your pocket.

Simple for me. I opt out of them.

IMO it's not a lot when you're already spending $1,600+ on front coilovers alone.

This is how you should look at it, how most c/o are with resi is its at its softest without the adjusters, having adjusters gives you more levels to stiffen it up.

For me it was worth it as there are situations when i want the truck to ride stiffer vs soft. Much like my adjustable c/o on my sports car -- same concept.

This is a response from Micah I got from Downsouth Motorsports asking the same question.

    His response to my email.

thats good and all and I agree, applies to many things but coming from non adjusters and now having them I will tell you its worth the extra $$ for the pair. Its like comparing outdoor clothing brands, 80% will do what people need-- the few brands like arcteryx, etc will have that edge for people who like to push it further.

its up to OP to decide if he wants that option and all depends how he uses his truck, it does make a big difference between the extremes of the adjustments. If you like to stiffen up for cornering, yes it will make a difference, if you are fine with soft-mid valving all the time then its alright and most will live with it. where it matters most is when the truck is loaded and needs adjusting for changes in weight

I have them and decided to go with the adjustable because I foresee my needs and use changing and I like the option to adjust. I regularly make adjustments when I leave the highway for off road, including on washboard dirt road. It takes about two minutes and you’re just counting clicks. No hassle and it makes for a much nicer ride.

I appreciate all the help, feedback, and links you guys provided. I just placed a order with ToyTec. I decided to go with the adjusters. I know how I'll use the truck and what i want out of it. The one thing I hate is how much body roll the truck has driving on road and hope to reduce it with the adjusters. Thanks guys!

Honestly I think you made the right call. You being on the fence this strongly between the two, it is easier in the long run coughing up the extra money and not needing it as much as you thought you did, than buying a set and regretting it.

It's kind of like sex. You start off and think wow, this sex is great. Later in life you have different experiences and realize that yeah that first sex you had was fun and all, but this other adjuster, I mean sex is soooooo much better. So until you experience it you don't know what you were missing.
