I forgot to mention I did get a new SPC upper ball joint set and SPC UCA bushings reinstalled on the front plus alignment. I should have cleared that up.

The front coilovers were $1600+shipping, the rear shocks $940+shipping, UCA ball joint and bushing set $260+shipping, installation plus alignment and sales tax $500. I live in CA.

Keep shopping around for sure. Also check the for sale section if you want to piece everything out, you can possibly come across good deals there.

Installing coilovers and rear shocks is stupid easy, all you need are basic tools and a couple hours of time assuming it's your first time. I can understand having someone experienced install UCAs as they are a little trickier, but paying hundreds of dollars to have someone loosen and tighten a few bolts to install shocks is crazy.

I'm saying this as someone who did pay a shop to do it the first time around, and did it myself the second time. Its easy to do

@lbtaco21 Id go with a kit that involved ADS and full dakar packs over a pieced together aal and day.

Accutune seems to be popular with the LT crowd since they will tune shocks for your uses for free/cheap before shipping

I’ve had a chance to ride in my buddies overland 4Runner rig he had on icons for the first few years .. it was nice. Then he got the king extended travel setup and I no longer thought the icons were nice. Kings make a fantastic product and their build quality can be felt just holding the shocks.

Had the exact same experience with my cousin’s Tundra. Don’t get me wrong, Icons are definitely an upgrade from stock but man those Kings make a difference when it comes to ride quality.

That's a much better deal for your money than your original post. That's essentially the same setup I run, and you'll be quite pleased.

I get the technical differences in them. Just trying to say that daily driving there’s a difference in a comfortable ride. You hear more people say it’s an improvement going from Icon to Kings than the other way around

I cant say I have honestly heard anyone go from king to icon. Icon is always a stepping stone to king.

so ended up going with the kings and dakars how many turns/threads showing on the front coilovers will give me around 2.5” of lift. 600lbs coils no armor

Take some measurements before you put them on and ask in the Kings main thread. Changing the preload with them on can be a bitch

I'm not sure about 2nd/3rd gens, but for 1st gens out of the box Kings are set to stock height and you have to crank them up to achieve lift.
