As the title states...that's exactly what I was planning on doing originally. Now I don't know. Won't the non resi coilovers hold me back? Will they be able to take the impact of high speed runs and small jumps? Will I regret not getting the resis in a couple years?

I don't think so. Plus if you end up wanting/needing the extra oil from a remote reservoir you can always have them added on

I think you would be fine, cause your still going from a OEM shock to a 2.5" body shock on the C/O. Which is a ton more oil and dampening ability. Resi's front and rear would be a few hundo over your budget, but you would not wonder.

Another option would be non resi. See how you like it. and if you feel you need more, You could always do the S2 system and add a secondary shock. OR like stated above. Send the shock to Icon to have a resi Added later.

Either way you go it's gonna be a night and day upgrade from where your at.

These are the types if regret installing about. Buying the s2 after instead if getting resis right of the bat is a big money loss. Or I'm not gna be able to drive my truck for a while.
Would you all really think saving up the couple hundred more isn't worth it?

There's a big difference between 'need' and 'want'. If you want the resi's, then get them now-if you decided to do it later, it's basically a double install-once now and once again when you want to add reservoirs to them. So if you count your time, it's definitely worth doing it now rather than later-especially if you don't have use of your truck during the upgrade.

Me personally I don't think fronts are worth it unless you plan on being out in the desert/dunes a lot. I know you said that you want to be able to run in the desert for periods which the non reservoir fronts will allow you to do.

Again that is just my opinion

If your doubting a non-resi set-up that much, then why even consider it ya know. Shoot for the Resi's. Saving the few hundo more is worth it for sure. You wont have 2nd thoughts or what if's.

Also, the S2 is in a whole other performance level then just adding Resi's to the C/O. It takes a ton of dampening load off the coil over, as well as acts as a bump stop in the last 2" of travel.

Icon RR extended length coilovers with cdc,Icon RR 2.0 custom length shocks, Icon tube UCA,all pro standard leaf pack, allpro u bolt flip kit, extended front and rear steel braided brake lines,CMC,super bumps, color matched mirror covers, relentless fab front bumper, smittybilt 8k winch with syn line, viking thimble and hawse fairlead, d2s retro fits, 20" led bar on bamf bracket, 4 rigid duallys, skygear fuse box, viper remote start, and a very shotty made satoshi raptor mesh grill made by myself haha
I forgot who said it but anything worth doing is worth overdoing and I'm the kinda guy who would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it and I just ordered my mid travel set up from sdhq (which those guys are BAMFs had my parts in stock and shipped that same day and answered all my questions with well educated and professional answers like I honestly can say I learned a lot from just the short 20 minute phone call I had with em) and ended up getting the icon front resi with CDC and I on rear resi 2.0 shocks and icon tube uca. Already have the allpro standard leaf pack sitting in my basement with the allpro u bolt flip kit and 4 konig six shooter 17x9 wheels all in missing is my bump stops from wheelers and I really need to make my mind up on tires. But anyways sorry kinda stoked about my set up idk man if you have the money might as well go all out the only thing ill probably do in the future suspension wise is get the Icon hydro bumps and upgrade rear shocks to 2.5 with CDC but that way down the road. I'm on the east coast for now but plan on getting transferred to Cali and all my friends down there go out to the dunes so might as well get ready now. But if your on a budget get the best you can man.
