I think @Blue Canary was also saying he has something going on Tuesday I'm not opposed to a late start on Tues.

The late start sounds good to me, then we can stop for dinner and give the trucks a break.

What's everyone's thoughts on food this year? Last year we brought too much food and not enough beer.

I got a portable pizza oven for Christmas that cooks great pizzas in two minutes, it's hot food without much effort. If anyone would like a pizza let me know and I'll bring one for you. It's great for heating up sandwiches too. I'll also bring supplies for carnitas street tacos.

Last time IIRC we got at least one a meal a day down at hammer town. I know I took home a bunch of food.

    100%

We brought home a bunch of food too. We went down with enough food to not have to buy anything while we were down there... thinking all the prices would be jacked up NFL stadium prices.

For those who haven't been... down there, we were wrong. The prices have a little bit of a premium (but you're also 45 minutes away from nothing in the desert). But the prices are NO WHERE NEAR as expensive as we thought they would be.

I'll bring a couple of pizzas for you guys. They'll be a good late night snack. I'll bring a couple bundles of firewood but plan on buying the rest on site. I can't find those compressed rounds from last year.

My daughter and I are going down solo in my motorhome towing my Tacoma, hitting the lakebed early Weds morning. Being large RV we're just looking for an easy access place to park then will be mobile all day is the plan. If you all are in a good spectating spot for the races we might have to come find you. If any RV's need another to circle the wagons let me know.

We'll probably cruise between a few spots because driving in the desert is half the fun. I'll keep my radio on Wednesday morning. We'll be using 146.460

I've been seeing the posts on IG and I think it's a great solution! Nobody crushes their cans and the trashcans end up being 90% air. I'll see you at choco for at least one of the cleanups.

Does everyone need to have the "General Admission Participant $100" ticket to enter the area if not going into hammertown or can you buy only the "General Admission Camping Pass $ 25) per vehicle to camp?

I don't know about the $100 ticket but the $25 camping pass is ONLY if you have an RV. Tent, car, truck camping is free. There is an admission ticket per person required.

So I’ve got an appointment on the 30th at 11:30 that should take about an hour. I should be ready to take off right after. Don’t know how that works with Matt and Greg.
What’s the best location to use when checking the weather? Johnson Valley or Lucerne Valley? I may take the ground tent if it’s not going to be too nasty.

Not sure you'll find anything for Johnson Valley. Lucerne Valley should be the same forecast.

Chases of rain, but overall looks clear (right now)

yes, that's right. prices go up closer to the event so I didn't recognize the price. so yes, need the $100 ga ticket but unless you're in a self contained rv won't need the camping pass.
