I am installing a set of King front shocks/coilovers and would like some opinions on the Tacoma Lean. On the current coilover (the one that will be replaced) I have a 1/4" spacer on top of the driver side to level out the truck. So with the Kings being ride height adjustable is it better to reinstall the 1/4" spacer on top of the King to help level out or adjust the driver side King to level it out.

The quick answer is to use the Kings to do any adjustments but I am wondering if the spacer would be better so the "preload" would be the same side to side. Opposed to the driver side a little bit more preloaded.

    Thoughts??????

    Thanks
    Garry

Adjust the shock You don't need a ton but most people do that. I have some friends that added the spacer then later removed it as they did not like how it worked with the shocks. I have never run it but just adjust a few more threads on the driver side.

I have my kings adjusted about 2 threads or so more on the driver side to account for my lean. I always viewed adding a spacer as stacking lifts, albeit very minimal in this case, and try to avoid that at all costs.

same reason I did not add it. I did not like the idea of stacking a spacer in there.

Ditch the spacer. Set the shock up identical, and drive it around. If you notice the taco lean, adjust as necessary. I've honestly never noticed the lean on mine.

Hey, at least it's a Fabtech and not that crap with the grenade ball joint spacer.

    Nice work!

I bought mine from wheelers for the OEM height and had the drives side turned 2 threads
and that almost eliminated the lean for me.

The OEM king setup at zero will still raise the front end 2.5”

1997Tacomav6.....Mine must be a little different. They came from King with 14 threads showing. But I really can't compare as they are custom extended for the 6" lift I have. So they may have set them to match the lift.

This helps me a lot, I had mine adjusted for a 2” lift for a level, now I’m squatting and have the aggressive droop feeling
