    Tacoma: mid-travel on 33s LC: 3.5” lift on 35s
I contacted ADS today, here's what they told me regarding the parts I was asking about:

Front coilovers (2.5" lift), price is for a pair
250-T4006-000 remote resi with 650-700 lb spring $1850 in stock
250-T4006-A00 remote resi with compression adjusters $2250 4-5 week lead time

Rear shocks, price is per shock
2.125” x13” smooth body with welded eyelet shaft valved for application $450 each 4-5 week lead time
2.5” x 13” smooth body with remote resi welded eyelet shaft valved for application $660 each 4-5 week lead time
Add $250/shock for dual compression adjusters
Need a shock relocation mount for these particular ones. https://www.bayareametalfab.com/2005-2021-Tacoma-Shock-Relocation-Kit_p_14.html

They also stock Dirt King UCAs for $525.

    A few things to notate.

-The BAMF kit requires heavy modification to fit a 2.5” shock.
-ADS doesn’t have a dual compression adjuster. It’s only a single like King.

I just received my King Stage 3 last week and I ordered in beginning of November. I'd say you'd be lucky to get them in 10-12 weeks.

In my opinion... king and fox send these oem shocks with generic one size fit no one valving. (I don’t know about elka or Icon. I know ADS will massage things)

the custom tuning that accutune does is worth more than any little bit of money you would have saved.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. If you're buying top tier shocks it should be for performance, paying a small margin more for a custom tune should not be a big deal.

There you go! I should have said "slightly more than the next vendor may charge, but not by much and its certainly worth the increase in function".

After all, these type of products are not just jewelry that will get you status points, they actually serve a functional purpose and that should be the goal!

Im not looking for standard coilovers though. Im going to be ordering some bypasses for the front

You don’t think that king Fox send a generic valve stack on the bypass?

Are you running a hydraulic bump? Or any bump? Will a sand rail 1/2 inch tube lay out work for you? Do you need a 3/4 inch tube?
How about bleed holes in your piston? Which piston?
Are you revalving your coilovers? What amount. Of valving is on your coilovers?

what short comings do you find with those coilovers when you’re driving?

there is probably more tuning to a bypass than a coilover. Way more than I’d want to handle. It’s the whole point of them.

Ive got King 2.5 coilovers with resi, 650lb spring. TC UCAs and dual mount LCAs. I have the bypass shock mount not installed yet, and will be buying 2.5 bypasses soon. Wheelers super bumps. This is all stock width, no long travel.

I don't see any shortcomings on mine right now..

What’s the need for bypass shocks then?

my point is, if you are trying to increase your vehicles potential via the suspension, then unless you can tune things, you would want someone that can have the shock (not talking tube adjustment) set up to focus on your specific goals.

there are many ways adding a bypass can effect a vehicle. A friend has (almost) the same shock and arm set up as I. He is more into overland, heavy weight, slow ish driving. I’m into more fast work... not only do I have larger tubes, but a different piston and pretty different valving in both the c/o and the bypass shock.

our rear shocks are completely different by the same shock builder.

I guess i dont "need" them. Its a want. I don't really drive fast, but potentially i could..

My rears are King 2.0 12" smoothies with clickers.

Im more than overlanding, but less than crawling and desert racing. I dont have a specific category for my truck. Do i need to have one? Do i need bypasses? No..

    Still going to do them.

I agree. All I’m saying is the value of them being tuned it worth more than any savings by buying at a discount with stock king/Fox valving

I agree. Although at this time, im just going to leave them. When I get the bypasses, ill tune them. I just got my fronts and rears back from getting rebuilt, so no point in sending them out for a tune

So the King Shocks that are made specifically for Tacoma’s part# 25001-119A-EXT & 25001-121A-EXT are just a generic set up? No tuning whatsoever or anything specific for Tacoma’s?

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
They are valved for a stock Tacoma for a certain situation. You might drive differently than the average guy.

    This....

plus go ask the guys who do a lot of rebuilds and see how many weird or non matching valve stacks they get on oem series shocks.

I wouldn’t put a shock on my truck that hadn’t been massaged by someone like accutune or filthy or the guys at ADS. I heard carbon is doing really nice things as well.

a buddies colorado has a set of oem series rear kings and they bounced and bounced and the truck bucked ass over tea kettle... he sent them to sdhq and they didn’t seem to have a full comp valve stack in either...
