Do you guys think these coiloevers are save able? Just got truck with them already there. They are about five years old.

I really don’t care about looks. I am just wondering if I can hit them with a wire wheel, spray the coils and have the shocks rebuilt. Or send them as is? Actually, I have a local shop that may be able to rebuild. They are leaking and basically bottom out on the bump stops on every speed bump.

It’s all surface rust, this is a Hawaii truck, not salt-belt level rust.

Toytec coilovers. Height adjustable Bilstein's. 265/75/16 MT. TRD wheels. Rebuilt r150f. Marlin clutch kit. All kinds of new parts...
That's exactly what I did with mine. They area 6 years old. New coils and cleaned up the shocks. Work fine still.

I bought mine used 9 years ago. No rust but the ride was not what it once was. I dropped the shocks off at my local off road shop for new springs (650# instead 600#) and a rebuild last month. I think I paid $220 for the springs, and another $220 labor, they are much better now.

    4 run, 2 don't
Feel like that coilover bucket is going to crack before those coils are an issue.

I'd pull the entire kit off and start addressing the rust on the frame/bucket first and then worry about suspension.

Yea, I’ll address that when I pull the coil overs. I feel like I’ve seen reinforcement kits for the buckets. I can weld, not good, but good enough.

The shop that rebuilds the coils, might be able to weld the gussets in and clean them up for you if you take that route.

Unfortunately, there seems to be too much varience from one truck to another. I'm not confident with selling them if I can't gaurentee the fit.
