    Bottom line is, depending on location and the weather you see, your shocks are gonna rust out. If you're where they salt the roads, and you don't spray your shocks down every so often, chances are they're gonna rust. Down South Motor Sports does excellent work and can really clean up shocks if needed during a rebuild. I had an old set of Foxes that were pretty rusty and DSMS made them look pretty new with a rebuild

    wish we were closer... to have a try out of your shocks. i lean on fox and king with adjuster even thought they are over kill for my need( pavement only). not a fair question, but out of the three which one you prefer most on performance.

    Kings. You don't need adjusters. Adjusters are only good if you drive fast Offroad. I have a longer explanation somewhere on here about not needing them. And I got my info straight from King.

    Its no problem. here is what I posted once.

    I got some great advice from Tyler Pelfrey and a gentleman at King about the purpose of the adjusters. Let's say I was Baja racing or driving my truck fast somewhere off-road where my truck would need more compression and then coming back on hard ball to utilize it as a daily driver, then yes I would need an adjuster. I use my truck for daily driving and camping. It would not service the purpose to increase compression and the lowest setting puts it back to a "stock/factory" compression, doesn't make it any softer than what comes out of the box for the regular remote reservoir ones. And since I live in North Carolina which is very similar to Alabama, with rocky and wooded areas I figured just go with the non-adjustable ones.

    Are R/R necessary? Absolutely! I went from Icon non R/R to King R/R. Yes one is a progressive coil over and the other is a degressive, but having the R/R allows the oil to flow when it heats up. Which in turn gives you that comfort both on and off road. All King's come with R/R, they really don't consider it an opition not to have.

    Oil "flowing" has nothing to do with a resi. A resi has an internal floating piston which separates the nitrogen cavity from the oil cavity. As the shock compresses and the shaft displaces fluid, the fluid flows through the resi and the oil cavity increases while the nitrogen cavity shrinks (which increases nitrogen PSI) until the shock rebounds. Non resi shocks that are NOT emulsion shocks also have an IFP in the shock body itself that separates the two cavities. A resi just gives you larger oil capacity. And yes, you can absolutely buy kings without the RR and save some coin.

    We've all got to start somewhere, I didn't know those videos existed. Living in Texas there's not a large following behind high quality IFS suspension so there's not really anyone to learn from.

    Hell yeah, I read enough and pulled the trigger on Friday from HeadStrongOffRoad, King on all four corners. I didn't know how many pages I read, but I did it for almost two months on the big three. Yes, this is my first truck (since 2012) and my first lift.

    I know King offers a 700# coil, but to my understanding that is not their standard coil. Does anyone know what is the weight rate for king's standard coilovers?

    Not sure if that was mentioned yet in this thread, if so I apologize.
