I think a lot of people don't realize how much the preload affects the ride comfort.

I had my Radflo Coilovers set to 2.5" of lift. The ride was okay. A little bumpy. I set them to 3" of lift and the ride was horrible. I felt every little bump and the ride was jarring. Now I have them set to 2" of lift and the ride is great. Super smooth.

They say "stock" valving is number 4 -5 on the CDC. You can go stiffer or softer from there.

I don't have CDC valves, I just recall reading that recently. I would ask the manufacturer, not the competitors.

yeah, I know this is a long thread.. But there was never found any mention of the icons with the cdcv. So I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with those. It makes sense that "stock" would be the mid range setting. I'm just trying to plan for the future haha. I had originally planned on an icon/Dakar setup.. But all this reading has just confused me

I love my Icon setup. I have no use for resivoirs or cdc. I have their AAL also. Rides incredibly well!

Also keep in mind that the clickers are only going to effect the compression stroke and not the rebound stroke of the shock. The spring and the rear leafs are going to control the rebound which also has an effect on the smoothness of the ride. If you want a great explanation of how everything works, I suggest emailing Ben @filthymotorsports. He is very knowledgeable, regardless of the brand you buy.

    Workin' on it....
This is true. I believe the only compression & rebound adjusting shocks currently on the market are the OME-BP51's.

I know the icons are butter smooth at highway speeds, but how smooth are they 15-25 mph? The county road i live on has significant ripples, cracks, and holes. Im reluctant to choose Icon because they are more rigid at lower speeds. Any idea how they stack up King?

I live on a dirt road myself. Traveling 10 -20 mph, Icons feel great to me. Much better than stock.

It's all personal preference man. I had icons at first, loved how they felt on the hwy, hated how they felt going 15-20 on the roads that I traveled daily. Which I drive from 15-55 daily all in one trip. I know own Kings and switching over to King was the best thing I could have done. Great for those speeds and they even feel good on the hwy.

Thank you! Finally a comparative description rather than "they're all good".

I literally have King extended droop coilovers, wheelers 8 leaf pack, & camburg uca's on their way via UPS.
Having run both King and Icon, what do you think of running Kings up front and Icon 2.0 out back?

I'll sale you my king 2.5" rear shocks that are coming off in 2 weeks. Only 5k on them.

Haha. But yea don't mix and match. Some people do, but I don't care for it. Plus it was the Icon 2.0 I didn't like the most compared to their coilovers.

I ran icon coilovers and fox piggy backs in the rear. No problem with that. Icon didn't make the rear shocks I needed so I custom ordered some fox.
